Our face is constantly changing. At first, we have cute, plump cheeks, which disappear during adolescence and the cheekbones and chin come to the surface. By the age of 20-25, we acquire smooth and expressive features. But already at about 30 years old, the first noticeable and sad changes occur: nasolabial folds appear, the first wrinkles appear, the skin seems to “sink” down.

For some, the process begins earlier, for others later. With these problems also comes a double chin and dull skin. Sound familiar? To be honest, I already know some of this list.

Well, after 50, changes occur almost every year.

There is a very good checklist for age-related changes. Let's go over it and understand what we can expect and how to deal with it.

So, five problems that come closer to 30 years old

  1. Puffiness of the face and circles under the eyes. Yes, we get tired, don’t get enough sleep and are constantly stressed, which, of course, affects our appearance. Add to this unhealthy diet, indulgence in salty and fatty foods, incorrectly selected cosmetics and health problems. The result is a very tired reflection in the mirror. Our appearance shows age, and sometimes even throws a few years on top. But besides everything else, even if we led an extremely healthy lifestyle, which included healthy sleep, healthy fresh food, clean products and no stress, it would still be difficult for us to avoid unpleasant changes. Over the years, muscle elasticity weakens. Hormones that maintain skin elasticity are secreted less, and metabolism worsens. As a result, we have what we have – dissatisfaction with ourselves and a tired, “extinguished” appearance.
  2. Nasolabial folds. At the first stage of their appearance, starting from the age of 25, they give us maturity, facial acuity and expressiveness. They help others understand that in front of them is no longer a girl, but an adult woman. True, this effect lasts for several years. Then the game against us begins. The folds fall lower, changing the circumference of the face, giving a tired expression.
  3. Color of the skin. Without proper care and nutrition, skin tone deteriorates over the years. She is no longer so “fresh”, rosy and breathing with youth. Year by year it fades. The solution, of course, is, first of all, in correctly selected skincare cosmetics.
  4. Double chin. Even if you are a slender girl, after 25-30 years an unpleasant and noticeable crease suddenly appears on the bottom. Many women have high hopes for facial gymnastics, because they believe that it is free, which means there is no catch.

When we buy cosmetics or some services in a salon, we understand perfectly well that they are making money from us, and since they are making money from us, since it is beneficial for someone, then they can sell us both high-quality and effective cosmetics, both good services and low-quality ones cosmetics, useless, unnecessary services.

But here, it seems like you don’t need to buy anything, you just need to not be lazy and work on your own. But it is not so.

Because they just want to make money from us. Since it’s popular now, it’s trending and everyone is interested in it.

What are facial gymnastics made of?

When I started studying the topic of facial exercises, I expected to see some detailed information like fitness, which would first talk about the structure of muscles, then about the cause of facial deformation.

Then some recommendations for self-diagnosis, how to determine what problems there are, which muscles are hypertonic, which muscles are hypotonic, and then some recommendations for specific exercises.

And I must say that over time I found such information that actually talked about the causes of various facial deformities and how to conduct self-diagnosis. This is not a specific book or a specific website on the Internet. I collected this information like a puzzle - piece by piece.

These were either fitness exercises that were aimed at relaxing the neck muscles, relaxing the trapezius muscles, or they were kneading techniques, that is, massage techniques to knead those facial muscles that are in hypertonicity.

That is, in essence, I was faced with a substitution of concepts when, when talking about gymnastics for the face, they offer partly exercises for the neck muscles and partly kneading techniques, that is, self-massage techniques.

2 weeks of facial gymnastics – my personal experience

As a result, I decided to try those exercises that seemed physiological to me, which did not raise any doubts in my mind that they could somehow cause harm.

Usually, beginners are advised to take 5 simple exercises and perform them at least 5 times a week. Results are promised in different ways, some promise in 2-3 weeks, others promise in 2-3 months of regular exercise.

If I had a forced break from sports, then after 2 weeks of regular training I feel in excellent physical shape. And here, 2 weeks of regular classes and absolutely no results.

Execution Rules

Before you start performing anti-aging aerobics for the face, it is important to familiarize yourself with the rules and recommendations:

  1. It is advisable to start Facebook building at the end of the day. In the evening, there is no need to rush anywhere; you can turn on relaxing music and start the procedure.
  2. Remember that you should not perform a set of exercises “dry”. Don’t be too lazy to go to a cosmetic store and buy some moisturizer: gel or face cream, oil.

    But remember that the product must be suitable for your skin type.

  3. Before aerobics, you should wash your face thoroughly. It would even be preferable to do this after taking a shower. Apply moisturizer to your skin. Don't forget to wash your hands!
  4. The first movements should be slow and careful. The facial muscles are thus prepared for the main activities. Then the load gradually increases.
  5. At the end of the procedures, it is useful to apply a mask suitable for your skin type to your face. It can be soothing, rejuvenating, moisturizing. After performing these steps, all the nutrients contained in the mask are better absorbed by the cells.
  6. If possible, do gymnastics in the fresh air. You can go out onto the balcony.
  7. To achieve the effect, you must perform the exercises at least 2 times a week. The ideal option would be to do this every other day.

Face building exercises for the face include several stages:

  • Warm-up is the preparation of muscles for more intense physical activity. It helps avoid injury;
  • The basic training part is a change of static and dynamic loads of varying degrees of complexity and intensity, aimed at modeling the facial contour and eliminating age-related changes;
  • Facial massage for wrinkles is an effective method of face-building health therapy based on tactile influence. It perfectly helps muscles recover after physical effort and corrects imperfections.

Place your index fingers right in the middle of your eyebrows, your thumbs at the bottom of your eyes. Close your eyelids. Gently move your index fingers up and your thumbs down, gently pressing both points as your eyes close. Do this exercise for 40 seconds and then rest.

  • Take in as much air as possible, holding it in the mouth, inflating the cheeks;
  • Fix the position for 20 seconds;
  • Repeat 15 times.

For the neck area

  • Take a horizontal body position, grab and press the neck area with your hands;
  • Raise your head up, feeling how your neck and gluteal muscles tense;
  • Hold the pose for 1 minute and then relax.

To get good results from classes, you need to put it into practice at least 3 times a week, although it is preferable to do it every day.

Try to gradually increase the time of approaches so that it takes 10 or 15 minutes a day.

To properly perform neck gymnastics, it is recommended to do it in front of a mirror in order to take the correct poses.

It should be remembered that our appearance and age-related changes in the face depend on the statics of the neck and the health of its muscles.

How to complement the practice?

It is worth noting that to obtain visible results on the face, it will take at least two weeks to a month of regular practice.

This is due to the fact that muscles have the ability to restore their previous condition.

One of these techniques is biomechanical stimulation of the face and neck, one session of which is equal to twelve sessions of manual massage in terms of the effectiveness of restoring muscle tone.

To maintain the results obtained, it is recommended to perform a cupping massage and apply tapes to the face at night (what it is and how it is used for rejuvenation is described in the corresponding article).

Debunking myths about face fitness

Despite the popularity of this method of preventing aging and rejuvenation, there are still quite a lot of stereotypes and “horror stories” that stop many on the path to self-improvement. Read the forums, you will probably find reviews full of doubts, something like: but my grandmother did nothing, she put cucumbers on her eyes all her life and looks great, but all your methods and cosmetologists are evil! But you and I are advanced and we know that cucumbers are unlikely to rejuvenate the face.

Let's consider the most popular myths about facial gymnastics:

  1. It is better to touch your face as little as possible. The face is not only the skin that we see and can touch. This is a rather complex structure, which is represented by skin, fat, muscles, fascia and, of course, bones. Yes, you should not touch your face with dirty hands, and also do self-massages that you invented yourself. But gymnastics for the face and neck, performed correctly, will not harm your face in any way, but on the contrary, will make it even more beautiful.
  2. It takes too much time to do face fitness. Tell yourself how much time you spend every day on such simple things as: tidying up your hair, brushing your teeth, taking a shower or bath, choosing and ironing clothes, etc. In general, everything you do to look attractive and pleasant to smell. It is enough to allocate only 10-15 minutes a day for facial gymnastics. Out of 24 hours, even in the busiest schedule, you can carve out these minutes for your own beauty, right?
  3. If you have already started doing gymnastics, continue for the rest of your life, otherwise everything will get much worse. With the right selection of exercises (and, of course, their implementation), you will soon notice the results of your work on your face: the oval of your face will tighten, your double chin will disappear, and wrinkles will smooth out. And what will happen if for some reason you “forget” about yourself and stop studying? Within a couple of months, the entire result will fade away, and you will again see your “old” reflection in the mirror. In contrast, it seems to many that they have begun to look terrible, but in fact - only as they were originally, before doing face fitness.
  4. Before the age of 25, it’s too early to do face fitness, but after 40, it’s already useless. Yes, if we talk about more aggressive face-building, it is better to start practicing after 25. Believe me, even if you start exercising at 60, you will see results. Yes, this will take more time than in 20 or 30 years, but still they will be, and quite good ones.

Reviews from doctors about face fitness are mostly positive. If you choose the right set of exercises for yourself and perform them in order every day, you will see excellent results. Do not believe slogans like “minus 10 years in 10 minutes” - this is a lie. The first changes can be noticed after 10-12 days, and in order to achieve what you want, you will have to “fit” classes into your schedule every day.

  • Nasolabial folds. Place your index fingers in the folds and press lightly. Alternately smile broadly and stretch your lips forward.

A distinctive feature of face-building exercises is that you can do them yourself at any time: while taking a bath, cleaning, cooking or watching TV.

  • Folds. The mouth is slightly open in the shape of an oval. The index fingers are placed strictly on the folds. Rhythmic movements of the phalanges up and down, alternately.
  • For smoothing nasolabial folds. Place your index fingers on the sides of your nose. Wrinkle your nose as much as possible, widening your nostrils.

There are a large number of aerobics techniques for the face, but their essence is approximately the same. There are basic principles regarding face fitness training:

  2. For facial fitness exercises to work, you should do them regularly. Train every day, preferably morning and evening, dedicating 10-15 minutes to it.
  3. Do everything in front of a mirror to be able to control yourself. It is equally important to concentrate on your own sensations in order to understand which muscle is working.
  4. During exercises, it is forbidden to stretch the skin too much, otherwise you may get new wrinkles.
  5. It is recommended to practice while sitting, with a straight back. In addition, you should first cleanse your face and scrub.
  6. If you feel unwell, training should be postponed.

Face fitness for lips

Modern girls, striving to become the owners of plump lips, agree to “beauty injections.” In fact, this is not at all necessary, since there are simple but effective exercises that will help you achieve the desired result. Face fitness classes for the face should include the following movements:

  1. Pull the middle part of your lips and release them sharply to hear a characteristic sound. Do everything in eight counts.
  2. Pull your lips forward, but do not curl them into a tube. The exercise can be called “duck”.

  1. To relax the muscles that are used when bringing your eyebrows together, do the train exercise. To do this, expand the eyebrow area by placing your fingers in the center between the eyebrows and spreading them to the sides.
  2. Press the palm of one hand to your forehead and move it down slightly without reducing the pressure. Raise and lower your eyebrows.

Face fitness for eyes

They say that a woman’s eyes can determine her age and condition, since fatigue and other problems are always reflected in them. Swelling in the eye area, drooping eyelids, crow's feet, all this can be removed with the help of special exercises. Face fitness is great for bags under the eyes:

  1. Stretch your lips in the shape of the letter “o”, lift your eyes up and start blinking actively. Make sure that wrinkles do not form on your forehead.
  2. The next face fitness exercise is difficult to perform, since it is important to feel the muscle, which is popularly called the “elevator”. Lower and raise your eyelid, but don't help with your eyebrows.
  3. Draw circles with your eyes, without missing a single corner. Rub your palms and cover your eyes with them, which should be closed. Continue drawing circles with them without opening your eyelids. Close your eyes and seem to draw them in, and then relax.

Face fitness for eyelids

A common problem among the fair sex is drooping of the upper eyelid. This not only makes you look older, but also makes your face look tired. The problem arises because there is a small muscle under the eyelid that loses its tone. Face fitness for the impending eyelid offers a unique exercise, to perform which, open your eyes as wide as possible and hold for four counts. Face fitness for cheeks

  1. Lower your lower jaw, creating an “o” shape for your mouth. Place your index fingers over your lower teeth inside your mouth. The task is to use the pressure of the cheeks to bring the fingers together, which should be straight. Please note that the tension should be applied to the cheeks, not the mouth. To relieve tension, puff out and relax your cheeks several times.
  2. As in the first exercise, you need to draw out your mouth in an “o” shape and place your index fingers inside, but only under the upper lip, at about 45°. Again, try to bring your fingers together with your muscles.
  3. You need to remember a little anatomy and understand where the zygomatic muscle is located, which runs diagonally across the cheeks. Lower your lower jaw again and repeat the letter “o” with your lips, and then try to tense and relax the zygomatic muscle. To help yourself in the first stages, you can repeat the short letter “o”.
