After winter, the skin on your face is dry, what should you do? How to properly care for dry skin in winter

The skin has begun to experience the “winter blues” - dryness, irritation, inflammation, peeling... True, seasonal problems familiar to each of us? We know how to cheer up your skin (that is, return it to a healthy and well-groomed appearance).

Cold wind, invigorating frost or dry hot air in the apartment and office are the main culprits of your skin’s “mood swings”. Moderate humidity is ideal for it, and too dry an environment provokes disruptions in the production of sebum, cleansing pores and renewal. The skin's protective barrier is disrupted, it quickly dehydrates, becomes sluggish and dull, and irritation appears. Such transformations occur even with absolutely normal, healthy skin, what can we say about problematic, dry or oily skin? In order to properly take care of your skin in these difficult conditions, we advise you to focus not on its type, but on its condition.

Skiing, walking on snow-covered paths and other winter activities often leave marks - frozen red ears, hands and cheeks, of course, do not bring beauty. Strong wind, cold air, lack of moisture dehydrates the skin and cleanses the lips. In winter, when blood circulation slows down, the skin becomes rough and loses its glow.

Temperature changes not only dry out the skin, but also begin to dull and the skin loses its elasticity. In winter, most women have wrinkles. Stay out of the weather by avoiding walking. Avoid using soap because, according to dermatologists, it destroys the skin's protective lubrication.

To make it easier for you to understand the situation, carefully study the four characteristic winter “moods” of the skin. Find yours and follow the skin care instructions.

1. Prone to redness and pimples

Usually, acne and inflammation do not bother you at all in the warm season, but in winter, unfortunately, the situation changes radically.

During the colder months, your skin may become more sensitive to odors, so choose softer, unscented creams. Don't squeeze your face immediately after leaving the house because your skin needs to dry thoroughly. Wet skin will dry out too much. If you want to revive your toner in the morning, make sure it doesn't contain alcohol - it's very dangerous.

In winter, use a special facial moisturizer and other care products. Apply daily as often as Vaseline, oily lipstick or special balms. Try to avoid lip gloss. Replace your lips in the field! Hands are like a woman’s business card: from them you can choose your age, health status, even character. Do you know that your hands are likely to age? Therefore, to be completely attractive and charming, you must properly care and treat the skin of your face and not just with your hands.

CAUSE:

Surprisingly, the root of the problem is dry skin. Because of it, the normal production of sebum and its distribution over the surface of the skin are disrupted. The glands produce more sebum, the excess clogs the pores, and as a result, acne appears on the face. A common mistake is to use anti-acne products at this time of year. They themselves dry out the skin, and together with cold air they bring the situation to the limit, making everything only worse. And the more dry your skin is, the more oil it produces.

Constant irritation from washing powder, detergents and other household chemicals, wind, and scrubbing. In addition, they are very harmful to the cold: frozen skin of the hands becomes thick, red, and broken. It is advisable to wash your hands only with liquid soap - this does not dry out the skin.

In winter, it is recommended to choose thicker hand care products. It is true that if you overdose on oily hand cream, the dead cells cannot be eliminated and the skin will become swollen. Olive oil is especially suitable for handmade oils: soak your hands in the heated oil.

KEEPING BALANCE.

Always cleanse your skin before going to bed. Cleansing lotions and delicate peels will gently remove dead cells without damaging sensitive skin. Anti-acne products can only be applied in the evening to well-moisturized skin. And use them every other day, and not all 7 days a week.

It also doesn't hurt to moisturize your skin in the morning. For this purpose, choose products with light textures - gels, lotions.

To keep your hands soft and supple, rub them with a few drops of lemon juice in the morning and glycerin in the evening. Beauty treatments will be more effective if you apply a special cream to the skin before removing dead cells, the skin will absorb more cream and other ingredients. The easiest tool for cleaning your hands is coffee grounds. They should clean their hands 1-2 times a week: rub their hands with thickened hands, wait a little, and then rinse them alternately with warm and cold water.

Always wear wool or cotton gloves in the field during cold seasons. Never leave the field with damp or wet hands, as it will begin to split from the cold. Massage your face and neck with masks once a week. Apply the oil to the flesh and then wipe it off with a towel.

2. Too sensitive

Even ideal skin is prone to winter depression: you notice irritation and redness that appear no matter what touches it - be it foundation, a powder brush or a woolen scarf.

CAUSE:

increased sensitivity is a sign that your skin has a low protective barrier. An explosive mixture of bad weather and hot heating disrupts the protective lipid layer and provokes moisture loss.

If you don't have a humidifier, hang wet towels on the radiator. Shape and neck with special aerosol water. Handmade hand cream. Don't hide your nose and lips under a scarf. The breath of a scarf can freeze exposed facial skin. Don't drink sparkling drinks before going out. They dilate blood vessels and rupture them faster.

Don't enter the field when you are just swimming or cooking. We must wait at least half an hour. Do not apply dry, loose powder to your face. It is better to choose a creamy pudding that protects the skin, but pay attention to its description: if it says without oil, do not use it on cold days.

INCREASE HUMIDITY.

You start dressing warmer when it's cold outside, right? So you shouldn’t forget about the skin: “warm” it with soothing and moisturizing products. Replace cleansing foam with a gel with a cream base. After washing, apply a soothing serum, and on top - a moisturizing protective cream, richer in texture than the one you usually use in the summer. Complete the procedure by sprinkling thermal water on your face. By the way, remember that a hot shower only removes moisture from the skin. But since in winter it is impossible to imagine a single morning or evening without it, try to at least minimize the time you spend under scalding water.

Beneath the surface, the skin is the largest organ in the human body. Skin can weigh about 16% of total body weight. An adult body covers 1-2 m 2 of skin. Skin is one of the fastest growing parts of the human body. We have lost about 40 kg of old skin cells throughout our lives.

Human skin consists of three main layers: epidermis, dermis and hypodermis. The epidermis is impermeable to water. The skin is the main organ that protects internal organs from various infections and diseases. It is important to clear away dead skin cells from radiance. Inhaled water swells. To ensure the moisture lasts as long as possible, it is best to apply a moisturizer after treating the water.

There is no bad weather - only bad clothes. This is true for skin care products as well.

3. Dull and lifeless

In the summer, just a lotion was enough to make the skin glow and acquire a beautiful shade. Now you don’t recognize yourself in the mirror: where have the delicate complexion and healthy blush gone?

CAUSE:

time spent in a heated and dried room literally sucks the vitality out of the skin. She lacks oxygen, vitamins and energy. Artificial lighting also plays against us: with it, wrinkles and unevenness are more visible on dry skin.

Skin is made up of a protein called keratin. The skin of the eyelids is the smallest. When the oil in the skin becomes blocked, the body can no longer breathe, causing acne. When in a field where the temperature is -10 degrees, you find yourself in a room where it is 20 degrees, your skin must adapt even to a temperature of 30 degrees. This kind of heat stroke strikes him at least four times a day. The skin suffers not only from temperature differences, but also from windy, dry and warm air. She is dry, glambà and mummies.

Keep in mind: all types of leather need careful care in winter and be careful when choosing the right product for the cold season. What fat content does cream have when it's cold and windy? In winter, the skin is better protected by a rich cream. The latest creams of this type resemble a liquid emulsion rather than an oil lubricant. They contain not only adjuvant, but also moisturizing substances. This cream forms a protective film on the surface of the skin, which prevents the evaporation of the skin’s natural moisture. Rinse cheeks and around lips thoroughly.

TURN ON THE LIGHT.

To add radiance, do gentle peelings at home three times a week before bed. After each procedure, apply vitamin serum (vitamin C is especially good for skin color). Winter is the best time of year for a salon peeling course. Replace the mattifying creams that you used to use in the morning with light tinting lotions. Remember the area around your eyes: a moisturizing anti-age cream with reflective particles will come in handy here.

Put the cream in your purse. When you feel that the cold hurts your face is painful, even outside. Should I apply oil cream to combination skin? However, only those places where the skin is dry. Apply the semi-bold cream to your forehead, nose and chin.

Doesn't oily cream damage oily skin? True, oily skin is more resistant to frost and wind, but it is unsecured; it loses natural moisture and moisture. Oily skin - the thinnest liquid pineapple cream with vitamins. Which mask to choose in winter? In winter, the skin needs the deepest moisturizing masks. You can even receive them daily. The skin is perfectly hydrated with a special capsule serum, natural grape seed oil. If you are going to go to the mountains, do not apply the fruit mask a week before your trip because it may make it difficult to remove brown spots on the skin.

4. Just capricious

Something strange is happening with your combination skin: an oily sheen on your forehead, nose and chin, your cheeks and forehead are dry, and pimples appear every now and then. And this despite the fact that you use a dozen super cosmetic products.

CAUSE:

still the same - changes in temperature and humidity cause a “split personality” in your skin. Plus stress and lack of sleep, which we especially suffer from in winter.

Apply to your face once a week with a nourishing mask. Keep in mind: the mask can be replaced with a thick layer of moisturizer. How to protect your face when skiing or falling into the wild? Once home, cleanse your face with milk and apply a cream that soothes and heals the affected areas.

How to care for sensitive lips? Apply several times a day with a protective pencil or rich cream - scrub and scrub. Use a protective pencil before regular lipstick. Apply honey to your lips at night: it moisturizes, nourishes, is antibacterial and heals healed skin.

WE KNOW THE MOMENT.

The main mistake is the inability to use care products as intended. In the morning you apply too much moisturizer, and before going to bed you completely forget about treating problem areas and generally nourishing your skin. What to do? At night, remove makeup with a lotion with a creamy texture, then rub a cotton swab with a drying toner over the T-zone. For dry areas and the skin around the eyes, use a moisturizing lotion. Look for products with hyaluronic acid (for oily areas) and glycerin (for those prone to dryness).

What is different from other creams specifically designed for winter? Winter cream moisturizes, nourishes and protects the skin. At the same time, the skin becomes opaque. Yes, but only when the temperature is no lower than in the past - the newest moisturizers not only moisturize the skin, but also “seal” it: the water in the cells does not evaporate.

If the field is cold and windy, moisturizer should only be applied in the evening. How to protect sensitive skin from frost? At night, apply the same sunblock you use year-round. Choose a slightly thicker day. Avoid rinsing the gel, which should be washed with water. Wipe the face of mildew in the evening and moisten the toner in the morning.

How to solve the problem of dry skin in winter.

The long-awaited winter is on the doorstep with blizzards, frosts, snow and good mood. It's a wonderful time for wonderful holidays and cozy family evenings. A good time for walking, doing what you love and reading books. This time cannot be overshadowed by any problems.

The skin of the legs, arms, shoulders and abdomen is also damaged by temperature changes, rough clothing and blankets. Walk in the cold, take your time in a hot bath - it will make your skin worse, remove the protective lubricant that retains moisture. Insert a little bath oil into the water instead of salt. Wipe your body with moisturizing jelly, anoint with balm, emulsion or nourishing cream.

If you don't have a special moisturizer, place the water reservoir in the heater. Rinse them at least half an hour before leaving the house. Be sure to apply protective cream. In the evening, wipe your nails and hands with nourishing cream. Pamper your skin with your hand at least once every two weeks, pamper yourself with a paraffin wrap in your beauty cabinet.

But, for women, everything wonderful that is associated with winter sometimes pales in front of one problem - dry skin in winter.

This problem brings discomfort to a woman and forces her to constantly struggle with this problem. There is another interesting article about why on . The reasons for their formation and how to get rid of them.

Winter is considered the harshest of seasons. The main reason why the skin dries out in winter is high humidity, frost, wind and very dry air in apartments. If the skin lacks moisture, then the water-fat layer of our skin is disrupted. At the same time, blood circulation is also disrupted, blood vessels narrow, and the skin ceases to be nourished properly. Its top layer begins to crumble and all its attractiveness is lost. The conclusion is quite simple: in winter, the skin needs nutrition, care and hydration.

If a woman cannot understand what kind of dry skin it is, then there are some of its features. Signs of dry skin are dryness, visible cracks on the surface, redness, peeling, irritation, itching, and a feeling of tightness.

To eliminate dry skin, you need to find out its root cause. In addition to bad weather conditions and sudden temperature changes, it is worth paying attention to nutrition in winter. Lack of vitamins makes the skin dry. Bad habits also change and harm the beauty of the skin. This is what internal factors are all about. Improper skin care in winter refers to external influences.

If the skin peels quite severely, then you should visit a doctor. This can be a sign of a number of diseases. You shouldn’t run to the clinic every time you feel irritated, but if there is no change after proper care, you should pay special attention to it.

How to get rid of itching on the body

Severe drying of the skin can cause severe itching and discomfort. What should you do to protect yourself from this trouble?

Severe dryness may cause severe itching on the body.

  • When going out into the cold, protect exposed skin as much as possible. Lubricate your face and hands with greasy cream or Vaseline. Dress as warmly as possible to prevent hypothermia. Wear tights and warm socks on your feet, choose underwear from natural fabrics, and don’t forget about a winter hat and scarf. Instead of gloves, it is best to wear mittens; they will help your hands always stay warm.
  • Take vitamin D in winter, which is sold in pharmacies in the form of drops.
  • Monitor the humidity in the apartment and do not allow the room to dry out. Buy an air humidifier that will help maintain the necessary humidity in the apartment during the heating period. The drier the air, the greater the likelihood of problems with the epidermis.
  • Avoid sudden changes in temperature. If possible, do not go outside at temperatures below 20 degrees, so as not to provoke frostbite and the occurrence of various inflammatory diseases.
  • Itching can be triggered by the sun's rays, which in the cold usually have a very aggressive effect on the epidermis. Use cosmetics that contain ultraviolet protection.
  • Avoid visiting the solarium at least in the autumn-winter period.
  • Choose soap that contains natural ingredients.

If all of the above methods do not help to avoid itching and flaking, and especially if the skin is cracking, be sure to consult a cosmetologist to prescribe treatment. Of course, there is a possibility that the itching may go away on its own, but there is also a possibility that it will trigger the development of more serious diseases. To prevent this, it is necessary to begin proper care of the affected skin in time.

If you cannot cope with the problem of dry skin on your own, then you should consult a cosmetologist.

Skin care in winter: the problem of peeling

It is important to note that sharp temperature contrasts are very harmful to the skin.
Therefore, when you come home, you shouldn’t immediately run to wash off your makeup. Just like before leaving the house, it is not advisable to wash your face. This is very harmful for facial skin in winter. Otherwise, even the cream will not be able to save the reddened skin. You need to give your skin time to get used to the room temperature. It’s enough to wait half an hour and then go wash. Oily skin can be cleansed well with facial milk, and dry skin with cosmetic cream. These facial cleansers should produce a moisturizing effect. It is not recommended to cleanse your face too often. After all, cleansing improves blood circulation and opens pores, which makes the skin peel and freeze in cold weather. You can do peelings or scrubs once every two weeks, not more often. An excellent option for caring for chapped skin in winter is a nourishing banana mask. Additionally, you can add 10-20 grams to the crushed fruit. butter and a couple of tablespoons of flower honey.

To completely get rid of the problem of flaking and chapping, one good cream and proper washing are not enough. What matters is how humid or dry the air in the room is. In winter, intensive heating is turned on in apartments, which means that the air in the apartment is dry and there is a need for skin moisturizing and special skin care in winter . Today you can find many automatic humidifiers. You can take a terry towel, wet it and hang it on the radiator. This will ensure constant humidity in the room. Additional protection for the skin in winter is decorative cosmetics. Lipstick and foundation for the face can protect delicate skin from severe frost and cold wind. Facial skin care is a necessary procedure for every person, regardless of the time of year. Intensive care for problematic facial skin is especially necessary. There are many remedies that help get rid of skin ailments. The main thing is to use them correctly and then your facial skin will always be healthy.

Effective recipes for winter masks

The use of masks is considered an important element of skin care in winter. It is best to apply such compositions in the evening. It is at this moment that the skin better perceives the action of active substances that are present in cosmetic products. Before using masks, you should thoroughly cleanse your skin of dirt and cosmetics. For this purpose, you should use cream or cosmetic milk. Typically, it is recommended to keep such substances on the face for 15-20 minutes. Then you need to wash your face with warm water. An equally good option would be herbal decoction or green tea.

After thoroughly cleansing your face from the mask, you need to cover it with a nourishing cream. The composition is selected taking into account the type of dermis. To achieve noticeable results, home remedies should be applied at least 2 times a week. It is recommended to do this all winter.

Orange mask

This composition is ideal for oily skin. With its help, it is possible to narrow pores and cope with oily shine. In addition, the substance has a nourishing effect on the skin and helps soften rough skin.

To prepare the product, you need to take 2-3 orange slices and grind them using a blender. Add 30 g of low-fat cottage cheese and 10 ml of grape seed oil. Mix thoroughly and add egg white to the mixture.

You need to treat your face with the finished product. It is recommended to apply it in several layers. In this case, each layer should dry out a little. After 20 minutes, you need to wash your face with water at room temperature. Applying cream after manipulation is not recommended.

Herbal mask

This product is an ideal solution for those with dry skin. The substance perfectly eliminates severe peeling. It also has pronounced moisturizing and soothing properties. With the help of a mask, you can get rid of the unpleasant feeling of tightness of the dermis.

To get a healthy product, you need to take 20 g of chamomile and 10 g of plantain and mint. Pour the composition into 100 ml of boiling water and leave for half an hour. Add 50 starch to the strained product. Then pour in 15 ml of olive oil and treat your face. After half an hour, the composition can be washed off with cool water and a nourishing cream can be applied.

Carrot mask

This composition is ideal for improving complexion. It helps to cope with irritation, normalize the condition of affected skin, fill it with energy and improve its tone.

To achieve excellent results, you need to mix 30 g of cottage cheese with 20 ml of peach oil. Add 30 ml of milk and fresh carrot juice. Mix all ingredients and apply the prepared mixture to your face. After 20 minutes you should wash your face. This is best done with cool water. Finally, treat your face with nourishing cream.

Oatmeal mask

In winter, the skin is often exposed to the negative effects of wind. As a result, the dermis becomes rougher, peeling and roughness appear on it. The cosmetic composition of oatmeal helps to cope with irritation of the epithelium, eliminate hyperemia and peeling.

To get an effective product, you need to take 20 g of oatmeal and add 50 ml of hot milk. Leave the mixture to swell. Then you need to add egg yolk and 30 g of honey into the product. Mix everything well and apply the mixture to your face. After 20 minutes, you can wash your face with warm water.

Coffee mask

This product is recommended for those with mature skin. It allows you to make your face look fresher, cope with minor wrinkles and normalize the tone of the epithelium. To achieve a noticeable effect, you need to take 50 g of coffee grounds and add 30 g of honey and full-fat sour cream to it.

The prepared mixture should be applied to the face. After 20 minutes, you can clean your face with a damp sponge. Then it is recommended to wash your face several times, alternating warm and cool water.

Winter facial care must certainly be comprehensive. To prevent the negative effects of external factors on the skin, it is necessary to select effective cosmetics. In addition to ready-made products, you can use effective homemade recipes. Thanks to this, you will be able to look perfect even in the coldest weather.

Skin cleansing in winter

When choosing winter skin cleansers, the main thing is to avoid the common mistake of over-drying through the use of aggressive cleansers, soaps and alcohol-based lotions. In winter, it is best to cleanse your skin using natural oils or creams.

To create a gentle creamy body peeling, take 100 grams of heavy cream (33%) and add a tablespoon of regular salt to it, stir and let stand for 1 minute until thickened. If desired, you can immediately add your favorite butter or ground coffee (to your taste). This deliciousness should be applied to damp skin, rubbed, allowed to absorb and rinsed off under a hot shower. Even dry and very rough skin of the elbows, arms and legs will become tender and soft after such a meal.

Fatty oils and hydrosols are ideal for cleansing facial skin and removing makeup in winter. Just moisten a cotton pad with hydrosol, then apply a little fatty oil on it and wipe the skin of the face, neck and décolleté. In the same way, you can easily remove makeup from your eyes and lips. My favorite combination of skin cleanser and makeup remover in winter is myrrh hydrolate + sweet almond oil.

  • Myrrh water is a unique healing and rejuvenating agent, which, when removing eye makeup, has a very beneficial effect on their mucous membranes
  • almond oil is beneficial for all skin types, perfectly regulates lipid and water balance, eliminating dryness and inflammation of the skin

Care for mature skin in winter.

To protect, nourish and moisturize more mature skin in winter, it is necessary to use anti-aging creams that contain natural phytoestrogens and herbal ingredients.

A new product from the cosmetics company Yves Rocher - a set of cosmetics based on the latest technologies, the Anti-Age-Global program with natural plant cells, guarantees intensive stimulation of metabolic processes.

The composition of anti-aging creams, day and night, from the “Power over Time” series, from the Oriflame cosmetics company, includes phytoestrogens, seaweed peptides, and gold microparticles. The complex formula of the cream allows you to stop the process of hormonal changes and restore elasticity to the skin.

The Garnier anti-aging series, which includes day and night creams containing fig extract, vitamins C and A, and eye contour cream, corrects facial contours, smoothes out wrinkles, and restores elasticity and freshness to the skin.

Winter face masks.

A refreshing and stimulating mask with pomegranate extract, when used 2-3 times a week, will give you a feeling of freshness. A mask with grape extract “Tonus” has a gentle lifting effect and deep hydration of the face. The “Vegetable Moisturizing” Face Cream Mask has the same effect.

Nourishing mask for dry and sensitive skin, which contains acacia honey and Karite oil, nourishes and moisturizes the skin.

A moisturizing mask with grape juice extract and vitamin E has an intense moisturizing and stimulating effect - the face, after using the mask, looks fresh and rested.

Features of winter nutrition - for beauty.

First.

In addition to the basic rules of healthy eating, include in your diet a high content of fats and proteins of plant and animal origin.

These are cottage cheese, sour cream, butter and vegetable oils, chicken and beef meat, fatty sea fish, eggs, nuts and legumes. Don't worry about it having a negative impact on your weight. In winter, in conditions of cold and shortened daylight hours, the body needs an increased amount of energy for life.

But you will meet spring not with pale-faced and withered squaws, with vitamin deficiency and pessimism, but with completely blooming and cheerful ladies.

Second.

Limit your coffee consumption and partially replace it with green tea with lemon and honey, or infusions of medicinal herbs: St. John's wort, mint, lemon balm, rose hips. This will help not only replenish the daily loss of moisture in the body, and the skin in particular, but also strengthen the immune system. And coffee speeds up the process of fluid removal and dehydration of the body.

Third.

Buy capsules with fish oil, vitamin A and E at the pharmacy. It is better if these are separate capsules and not the drug “Aevit”. These vitamins are the strongest antioxidants that slow down the aging process of the skin, and fish oil contains Omega-3 fatty acids, essential for beauty and health. You can read more about vitamins for beauty and youth.

Carefully and properly care for your facial skin in winter, and you will greet spring fresh and well-groomed.

Vitamins and peptides in oil

Another trend is to use oil mixtures as a transport for active ingredients that need to work deep in the skin.

Such products are often made after studies have shown that active components in an oil base penetrate better, faster and deeper than in water and cream emulsions.

You know about vitamin C in oil, this is the advanced technology of oil capsules by AnneMarie Borlind, she wrote about them here.

The second interesting mixture is Madre Labs, Serumdipity, Facial Oil with Peptides. I just started using this bottle and I already love it!

The oil is colorless, odorless, with Japanese camellia and crambe seed oils, plus it contains two peptides, which are called signal peptides. They send a signal to cells to enhance collagen synthesis and increase elasticity, putting them in a fighting state))

Slightly dense in texture, although you may not notice it. It looks liquid, with a subtle aroma of shea butter, makes the skin silky, satiny, and well-groomed. Of course, provided that you do not pour it from the bottle, but apply it drop by drop. Definitely suitable for dry and normal skin, and also for sensitive skin.

For oily skin, you should try it, but as an option, use it on the hands or décolleté, where aging is most visible.

Do you use oils for your face and body, have you already found your best oil for your skin? Let's talk about oils, winter has already begun! ))

Rules for choosing face cream in winter

First of all, you need to determine your skin type. The effect of creams differs significantly for different types. Therefore, an incorrectly selected product can aggravate problems and add new ones.

For oily skin

The oily type needs protection, hydration and nutrition no less than the dry type. The cream should perform these functions and at the same time be non-comedogenic. Choosing such a tool is not so easy, but it is possible.

The optimal cream for oily skin has the following properties:

  • moisturizes and nourishes the skin;
  • retains moisture;
  • absorbs excess sebum;
  • exfoliates;
  • relieves inflammation.

Fruit acids provide a moisturizing and exfoliating effect, so their presence in the composition is welcome. They also improve the condition of problem skin.

It is worth paying attention to creams based on extracts of medicinal plants. Especially useful for oily and problem skin are products with chamomile, calendula, lavender, arnica, sage, oregano, and hawthorn.

In addition, the following oils are preferred:

  • tea tree;
  • lemon;
  • rosemary;
  • mint;
  • grapefruit;
  • ylang-ylang;
  • lemongrass;
  • almond;
  • grape seeds.

For combined

Combination types often benefit from the same creams as oily ones. However, there are special products for mixed skin. They perform the same functions, but the nutrition is more intense. The following may serve as auxiliary components:

  • plant extracts - lemon balm, eucalyptus, millennial, linden;
  • oils - sea buckthorn, peach, sesame, apricot kernels, jojoba, coconut, geranium, rose.

For dry

In winter, dry skin is especially prone to tightness and flaking. If in warm weather you can get by with moisturizers, then with the arrival of cold weather you need to think about nourishing the skin. The cream should perform several functions:

  • moisturize;
  • supply;
  • protect from drying out and dehydration;
  • calm down.

First of all, the composition must contain oils. They will provide the skin with nutrition and replenish the lack of nutrients.

The following types are especially valuable for the dry type:

  • shi;
  • mango;
  • macadamia;
  • jojoba;
  • apricot;
  • sesame;
  • soy;
  • borage (borage seeds);
  • neroli.

Plant extracts will take care of moisturizing and toning the skin, stimulating regenerative processes. In this regard, extracts of algae, coconut, rose, sage and St. John's wort are effective.

For the fading

Mature and aging skin is characterized by dryness, tightness, loss of elasticity and lack of nutrients. These problems only get worse in winter.

When choosing a cream, you should pay attention to the lines for dry skin types and anti-aging products

As a rule, creams for skin with signs of aging contain components that are simultaneously aimed at combating dryness and age-related changes.

The main active ingredients are oils:

  • apricot;
  • avocado;
  • jojoba;
  • cocoa;
  • olives;
  • primrose;
  • rosehip;
  • camphor;
  • linen;
  • wheat sprouts;
  • sesame;
  • sea buckthorn;
  • peach;
  • castor

Medicinal plants contain biologically active complexes, so their content in the cream is desirable. Extracts and extracts from plants have a tonic and moisturizing effect, and also increase elasticity. Most often, extracts of avocado, aloe, anise, ginseng, rosemary and hops are added to anti-aging creams.

Skin on the face

Skin cleansing

Cleansing your facial skin in winter should be gentler so as not to destroy the protective barrier. Avoid products containing alcohol, sulfates and other aggressive ingredients. Do not wash your face with hot water, this will dry out your skin even more.

In winter, if you have oily skin, it is better to switch to cleansers for combination or normal skin. If you have normal skin type, you should switch to products for dry skin.

Toning

The procedure for toning the skin must be carried out daily in the morning and evening, this is like the final stage of washing. For the winter, choose a moisturizing, nourishing, softening or refreshing toner, but it is better to put off cleansing, toning, mattifying and astringent tonics, because they contain alcohol, which will dry out the skin.

The main task of toning is to soften the negative effects of cleansers, restore the pH of the skin and prepare it for the next stage of care.

Moisturizing facial skin

Moisturizing is the most necessary step in winter, despite high air humidity, because when indoors, the skin comes under the influence of heating devices, which simply dry it out.

In winter, moisturizing your facial skin should be done in the evening before going to bed; if this step is carried out in the morning, then after going outside the skin will experience severe stress.

Facial skin nutrition

Nutrition is the main stage of skin care in winter, which consists not only of applying nourishing cream, but also of using special face masks. The nourishing cream is applied to the facial skin in a thin layer 30 minutes before going outside so that it is absorbed into the skin.

Choose creams that include:

  • peptides,
  • natural oils,
  • antioxidants,
  • collagen,
  • retinol,
  • glyceryl glucoside,
  • hyaluronic acid.

All these components will help saturate your skin with moisture and maintain water balance, which is so important for any skin type.

Peelings

Use light homemade peelings with acids or some others. The main task of peeling is to cleanse the skin more deeply and exfoliate the stratum corneum (the keratinized skin on the face prevents it from looking fresh and radiant). And after peeling, new cells begin to actively grow, which means the skin is smoother, fresher and more radiant.

Alkaline products

Do not use alkaline cleansers. Wipe your face with toner without alcohol. Use scrubs and peels less often. Do not use water-based creams. Use cream masks that do not wash off. Pay more attention to products containing oils.

Concealer

The foundation should be thick and contain oils. Pay more attention to the skin around your eyes and lips, moisturize them, make nourishing masks.

Drink enough water

The human body is on average 70% water. Without maintaining the body's water balance, it is impossible to imagine its normal functioning. It is also impossible to imagine that the skin will be radiant, moisturized and elastic if you do not give it something to nourish from the inside.

No matter how trivial it may sound, first of all we recommend drinking clean water . How much, how and when is entirely up to you. Don't forget at least a couple of glasses a day to replenish the lack of fluid.

Take your vitamins

Especially relevant are Omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins D and C, as well as antioxidants that prevent the skin from aging. Therefore, facial skin care in cold weather means frequent consumption of fatty fish, liver, nuts, vegetable oil, as well as pumpkin, persimmon, citrus fruits and black currants.

Sometimes you can drink rosehip decoction or take vitamins from the pharmacy, but in a course and as prescribed by a doctor.

Cream before going outside

Skin in winter should be protected from frost. It is advisable to apply a protective cream according to your skin type 3 hours (at least an hour) before going outside (in extreme cases, any nourishing cream).

  • It is not advisable to use water-based moisturizers before going outside, as water freezes in the cold, which will damage the cells of the stratum corneum.
  • It is also undesirable to use creams with hyaluronic acid, as it retains water on the surface of the epidermis.

Using scrubs

Do not use scrubs, gommages, peelings unless necessary or prescribed by a cosmetologist, as dead horny scales prevent the evaporation of water from the stratum corneum. In addition, with frequent cleansing, the hydrolipid mantle is disrupted, which leads to an increase in the water permeability of the skin from external influences (snow, frost, humidity).

This does not apply to anti-aging procedures such as medium peels. For them, winter is the best time, since solar activity during this period is the least, and, therefore, the risk of age spots is reduced to zero. But to carry out these procedures, the skin must be completely “healthy”.

Dry your skin

The skin should always be dry, especially before going outside. Dry the leather thoroughly after washing with water; it should be completely dry, as water evaporation may cause it to crack.

This applies primarily to the corners of the mouth and the skin between the fingers. Apply protective balms to your lips and special creams to protect your hands from frost.

Avoid chemical peels

Chemical peels and other traumatic procedures (mechanical cleansing, microcrystalline dermabrasion, laser and ultrasound peels) should be done according to the indications of a cosmetologist. It is not advisable to go outside for 3 hours after facial peeling. If it is severely frosty outside, it is better to postpone the procedure to another time or invite a cosmetologist to your home.

Moisturize your skin

Skin in winter also needs hydration and nutrition. Face masks based on skin types and problems should be done 2-3 times a week, preferably in the evening, without going outside. You can use cream masks that do not need to be washed off with water; after the exposure time has elapsed, the excess is simply removed with a napkin and the cream is applied.

Humidify the air

Humidify the air in the room, as heating greatly dries out the skin. Do not sit under air conditioners and do not warm your hands and face with heaters; they make your skin very dry.

Use lotions

Body care in winter should be aimed at protecting the skin from frost. Body lotions should be thicker and more nourishing. It's good if they contain oils (shea butter or cocoa butter).

Wash your face with water at room temperature

If you cannot do without frequent washing with water, then wash with water at room temperature (22-25 degrees Celsius), since hot or cold water dries out the skin and puts additional stress on the blood vessels.

Winter skin care may include facial cleansing with micellar water for dry skin or hydrophilic oil for oily and problematic skin.

Use oil-based cosmetics

Choose oil-based decorative cosmetics for dry skin. Do not use moisturizing foundations and lip glosses , as they can lead to frostbite and dry out the skin.

Foundation in winter should be of thick consistency and contain oils. It is advisable to use liquid eyeshadow with wax, rather than dry and crumbly ones. Instead of lipstick or under lipstick, apply a protective winter balm to your lips.

Temperature changes

The skin becomes most sensitive in winter, this happens mainly due to large temperature changes when you enter a warm room from a frosty street or vice versa. Ideally, there should be a gradual equalization of temperature.

As mentioned above, this is most relevant for people with weak blood vessels, but even in people without vascular problems, the skin can become sensitive.

Thick make-up products

In cold weather, use dense products (foundation creams, compact powder) - they protect your face from frost. But there is also a downside to the coin - they clog pores and can cause comedones and acne.

Lose weight without denying yourself your favorite foods! Eat and lose weight! Find out how! >>

Therefore, dense products should be used if you have to spend several hours outdoors in frosty weather. For short runs, loose powder is enough to mask imperfections and also protect the skin.

Do not use dry cosmetics

Dry cosmetics (eye shadow, blush, etc.) fall off in the cold and emphasize wrinkles. Therefore, in winter it is better to use blush and eye shadow with a creamy texture. Lips should not be left in the cold without protection.

Chapstick

Even if you are against decorative cosmetics, use hygienic lipstick or balm. But avoid moisturizing glosses - they make your lips dry out more. The best lipstick for winter is nourishing and dense. In cold weather, you need to apply it to your lips every two hours.

Sunscreen

It is recommended to choose a sunscreen with a protection factor of at least 30, preferably a cream-based one, since light water-based fluids, which are preferred in the summer, can cause irritation.

Thermal water

In winter, the rooms are hot and dry. A can of thermal water will help you refresh your face in the office. For dry skin, choose water with a minimum amount of salt; for oily skin, the most saturated composition is suitable.

Thermal water should be sprayed onto the face every 3-4 hours, and then gently blotted with a napkin. If thermal water is sprayed and left to soak, then moisture will evaporate from the surface along with water droplets, and the skin will become even more dehydrated.

Recipes for compresses and rinses

Wash and compresses, lotions and masks prepared at home have a gentle effect on the skin in winter and moisturize it well. Here are some simple but effective recipes.

  1. Use the recipe with almond bran: add hot water to a tablespoon of bran and stir until it becomes a thin paste. Apply the cooled mixture onto your face with light movements and rinse off after 5 minutes. Proceed with further cosmetic procedures.
  2. If you come from a severe frost, make a lotion for your frozen skin from a decoction of oak bark: steam a dessert spoon of bark in a glass of boiling water and hold for half an hour in a water bath.
  3. If your skin peels and turns red in winter, compresses made from green tea or calendula infusion (2 tablespoons per glass of boiling water) will help you. Soak a napkin in tea leaves or infusion and place on your face for 15 minutes.
  4. To make your skin more easily tolerate low temperatures, try warm baths with milk and olive oil: for 2 tablespoons of dry milk, take 1 tablespoon of olive or corn oil. Do these baths 2 times a week.

Face masks in winter

Nourishing face masks in winter include simple ingredients that any housewife can find at home. They are used specifically during the cold season to protect the skin from the negative effects of the environment.

Dairy mask

Milk masks are an effective remedy for combating skin fatigue. For dairy products, you can use natural yogurt, low-fat cream, sour cream or kefir.

  1. Make the mixture thick enough so that it does not run off your face.
  2. Apply the mask, keep it on for 10-15 minutes, then rinse your face with cold water.

This mask softens, rejuvenates the skin, and most importantly, restores the pH balance of the skin, thereby protecting it from the effects of cold.

Egg mask

Egg masks are ideal for oily skin with enlarged pores. For the mask, you should only use the yolk of a raw egg. It needs to be whipped and gently applied to the face, leave for about thirty minutes.

This mask will tighten your pores, give your face freshness and make it look healthy. The egg mask also creates a protective barrier for the skin from cold winter wind and air.

Oatmeal mask

An oatmeal mask is more of a healing than a protective mask. If your skin has become dry and rough due to exposure to cold, then this mask is the best remedy to solve this problem.

Mode of application:

  1. Mix oatmeal, egg yolk and honey in equal proportions
  2. Apply to face for 20 minutes
  3. Rinse off the mask with warm water and dry your face thoroughly.

After this mask, your skin will be soft, fresh and healed!

Banana mask

If you have combination skin, then you should use a banana mask in winter skin care.

Mode of application:

  1. Make banana puree from bananas.
  2. Add a little of your favorite face cream to the puree.
  3. Apply to face for 30 minutes.

This mask will make your skin smooth, soft and moisturized. A banana mask nourishes the skin well and actively protects it from the effects of cold and cold.

Avocado mask

An avocado mask is ideal for dry skin, which is especially prone to irritation in winter.

The mask is prepared as follows:

  1. Mash the avocado pulp with a fork.
  2. Add a few drops of olive oil to the mixture
  3. Apply the mask to your face and keep it on for no more than 20 minutes.

Avocado leads the top foods in terms of antioxidant content—substances that prevent the body from aging. Avocado mask is the most popular food mask among Hollywood stars. It is the best source of nutrition, vitamins and minerals for your skin.

Skin functions

The skin, as we know, is our mantle, a cover that protects us from adverse environmental factors, allows us to more fully communicate with the world through sensations, and also performs some other functions, such as excretory and respiratory.

There is another important function of the skin, which is not described in any physiology textbook. This function is the creation of our attractiveness. What epithets are given to the skin: white marble, bronze-golden, tender as a peach, satin and many, many others. Reading lines like this, we often think: what could be said about our skin? This depends on many factors: the type of skin, its color range, the tone of blood vessels and muscles, and the intensity of blood circulation. And, of course, it depends on how much we love our skin and how much time and effort we devote to it.

Today we will talk about what needs to be done to keep the skin soft, elastic and beautiful.

Dehydrated or dry skin – how to tell?

Dry skin is a genetically determined skin type that is characterized by the fact that it produces less sebum than normal and oily skin. Typically, dry skin is very thin, easily “wrinkles” from facial expressions, and the pores on it are almost invisible. If the above signs do not describe your skin, but you clearly feel dry, your skin is most likely simply dehydrated.

Cold and wind

Cold outside air is less humid than warm air. And in combination with the wind, it has the property of drawing moisture from the skin and hair.

In summer, the air is more humid due to the evaporation of water, which naturally does not happen in winter. Ideally, normal skin in a healthy person is able to adapt to weather conditions, that is, secrete more sebum in winter to maintain moisture. But this does not happen to everyone, because the skin has become “lazy” due to the intensive use of cosmetics or the body does not have enough nutrients that can support the functions of the skin.

Exfoliation

Products containing glycolic, lactic, and salicylic acids are ideal for peeling. Exfoliation will give the skin a smooth and healthy appearance, but is contraindicated for inflammatory processes and pustules.

To avoid drying out the skin, exfoliate 1-2 times every 7 days. If we resort to this procedure more often, we will get the opposite effect - the skin will begin to produce lubricant in an even greater volume, which, in turn, will worsen its appearance.

The scrub is applied to moisturized skin and gently rubbed with soft circular movements for about 3 minutes. It is advisable to carry out this procedure before bedtime.

What to do

If you have a problem with dry skin, you should follow these tips:

  1. Drink more fluids to maintain normal water balance in the body. As a good rule of thumb, you need to drink at least two liters of clean water a day.
  2. Review your diet and enrich it with vitamins and other beneficial substances. Thus, you need to add more greens, fruits and vegetables to the menu. It is also useful to eat fermented milk products, dried fruits, nuts and meat. You can drink juices. After just a month of eating this way, you will see noticeable improvements in your body.
  3. Give up bad habits (smoking, drinking alcohol). This will not only improve the condition of the skin, but also minimize the risk of developing heart and vascular diseases.
  4. If the problem of dry skin is caused by a disease, then you need to undergo a full diagnosis and begin a course of treatment. In this case, you need to contact several specialists at once - a neurologist, dermatologist, gastroenterologist and endocrinologist.
  5. You should avoid frequent use of “heavy” decorative cosmetics, and also completely eliminate the use of low-quality cosmetics.

Winter skin care: some useful recommendations from Alpika specialists

  • If you think that in winter the sun cannot cause you any harm, then you are mistaken. Even at this time of year, UV rays threaten the health of your skin. During this period, I recommend using creams with a sun protection factor of at least 15. Apply it every time you go outside.
  • Don't neglect massage. You can do without the help of a specialist. You can stimulate blood circulation on your own. For example, applying cream and other products with light patting and rubbing movements.
  • Don't forget about hydration. You cannot wait for redness or peeling to appear. For facial care in winter, I recommend Hyaluron + cream. It is universal for all skin types. It has a light consistency, absorbs quickly and instantly fills the surface with moisture, making it even and smooth. Bioactive hyaluron, which is one of the main components in the composition, ensures the maintenance of the required level of water in the cells, resulting in natural and regular hydration throughout the day.
  • Remember that careful and layered makeup is your protector. Allow yourself maximum naturalness in summer. But in winter, do not neglect some rules in creating your daily look. Primer, foundation, powder or veil - all these cosmetic products, applied together, will not only not cause harm, but will also become a kind of armor that protects from wind and frost. This makeup will not look vulgar or too deliberate.

Daily facial care

To minimize risks and keep your skin healthy during winter, you need to maintain its natural state. And the main rule of care is regularity. That is, you need to follow the listed tips every day, without missing a single procedure. It's not as difficult as it seems. You just need to get into this rhythm and get used to it.

Washing

During the night, the skin rests and recovers, but its pores are still contaminated with dust from the pillow and secretions from the sebaceous glands. Therefore, you must wash your face to cleanse your face. This procedure consists of the following steps:

Wash your hands with soap. Moisten your face a little with water. Apply cleansing gel to your hands. How to choose it correctly, I wrote in an article about how to choose a cleanser

Lather it up. Apply the resulting foam to the face, paying special attention to the forehead, nose and chin. Rinse off the foam with running water at room temperature.

It is ideal to use boiled water for washing, because tap water contains many harmful microelements that additionally dry out the skin. You should wash your face in the morning and evening.

Toning

This procedure is aimed at narrowing pores and neutralizing the negative effects of tap water on the skin. It is carried out after washing. For toning, you can use a regular ice cube made from distilled water. You need to move it along the massage lines of the face. Additionally, this will also harden the skin, preparing it for going outside.

You can also use purchased products - tonics. They come in different forms, but for winter it is better to choose a toner labeled “nourishing,” “moisturizing,” or “mattifying.”

Hydration

For winter, you need to choose the thickest cream with a moisturizing effect. But before you buy, make sure it matches your skin type. I wrote in a separate article how to determine your skin type. It is also applied along massage lines. We must not forget about the neck and décolleté, as in winter they need additional care.

After applying moisturizer, you can apply makeup.

What about injections?

It is worth noting that autumn and winter are the time for injection procedures: we are talking about mesotherapy, biorevitalization (providing deep hydration and saturation to the skin), contouring, volumetric correction, thread lifting. The thing is that it is during this period that we can stimulate the skin to recover, revive itself after the sun, after tanning - that is, after dehydration. Considering that at this time a new factor of influence appears - cold air, such procedures will be very useful. However, you need to remember that after useful injection procedures you need to use SPF 15 or 20 protection, since UV radiation does not disappear anywhere, it only weakens, but is reflected from the snow.

In the autumn, it is worth planning all serious procedures, including various plastic surgery options: this will allow you to recover by the beginning of the warm season and avoid post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

Tips for caring for oily skin

In the summer, owners of this type suffer from oily shine, and in the winter, such girls occupy a fairly comfortable position.

Sebum is still secreted, but in smaller quantities; it is enough to provide natural protection, but not enough to produce the characteristic shine.

The care system for such skin must be structured competently, because it is important not to deprive the owner of this advantage, but also to provide the face with a beautiful appearance.

The main emphasis should be on hydration. A good cream can work wonders and cope with sebum secretion. After all, one of the main reasons for its excess is lack of moisture.

I advise you to pay attention to a light texture moisturizer that would be ideal for daily use. It is desirable that it contains hyaluronic acid, which helps retain moisture for a long time.

This cream should be used twice a day. In addition, you should think about cleansing and choose the right makeup remover. In this case, the Orange cleansing foam can become a real helper. It will delicately cleanse the surface of the epithelium, thanks to soap tree extract, and the orange essential oils in the composition will help regulate the functioning of the sebaceous glands.
