I would like to dedicate this article to women who have decided to correct the size or shape of the labia minora. This is a kind of warning to those who believe that labiaplasty is a simple operation and it does not matter where or who does it.
Just don’t take the material as if I want to make it clear that only I perform these interventions well. There are a lot of high-quality doctors who operate, but unfortunately, there are also many who do their job unsatisfactorily. Moreover, almost all defects associated with asymmetry or irregularities can be easily corrected, the main thing is that the labia minora are not excessively amputated, and this has recently become more and more common. The results of my operations are praised by some, scolded by others, and this will always be the case, even if the intervention was performed well. After all, the main problem of intimate surgery is that it is sometimes difficult to find a compromise with the aesthetic ideas of some patients about the appearance of this area and maintaining the correct physiology and anatomy. I still classify this operation as complex, although I have already performed a huge number of them; I remember very well the first labiaplasty and all subsequent complex cases. So, what are the challenges for a doctor?
First of all, everyone who deals with intimate surgery is self-taught!
This is not taught in any institute in the world and, if gynecologists have primary knowledge about this area, anatomy, physiology, although this is also not enough for success, then plastic surgeons simply take the subject “obstetrics and gynecology” at the institute, like an ordinary local therapist from clinics. Then anyone, for example, a urologist or maxillofacial surgeon, who has not performed a single operation on the gynecological organs, completes 576 hours of study and here it is, a diploma that formally gives the right to perform interventions on the lips, ears, nose, that is, the face and head as a whole , mammary gland, buttocks, legs, arms, abdomen, including the external genitalia.
Moreover, there are no exams testing artistic perception. But this does not mean at all that a simple obstetrician-gynecologist is definitely good, just that if he has already acquired sufficient surgical experience, then over time he has a better chance of learning how to do labiaplasty well. From my point of view, it is not very correct when a doctor enlarges the breasts today and reduces the labia tomorrow.
Thirdly, labiaplasty is never the same!
It's understandable that everyone is different, but this area is particularly diverse. The primary labia may be excessively long, thick, or both long and thick. What is such a defect as duplication worth, when there are two of them on each side and they grow together at different levels and are combined with pronounced hypertrophy of the clitoral hood. Or, for example, on the right they are thickened and elongated, but not on the left. That is why each patient is special, and therefore so is the operation.
Correcting other people's mistakes
Don’t judge strictly, but when correction is performed after someone else’s mistakes, the result should at least minimally bring the appearance of the intimate area closer to some kind of naturalness, and if at the same time an aesthetic result is achieved, then this is already a very great achievement. That is, the result should fit into the “better” category. In some cases, after reconstructive surgery, when the main defect is eliminated, further aesthetic correction is recommended, which some of my patients most often refuse, tired of the previous torment and satisfied with what they received.
Labiaplasty
Among those plastic surgeries that correct the aesthetic side of the female genital organs, labiaplasty occupies a special place. Most often, women resort to the procedure of changing the structure of their labia in the following cases:
- after childbirth and sprains associated with it;
- due to age-related deformations of the vulva;
- due to congenital anomalies.
Hormonal imbalances and dysfunctions in the body can also lead to a sharp increase, swelling or change in the density of the labia. Increased levels of testosterone in the female body (male sex hormone) can also significantly affect the appearance and size of the female genital organs.
Indications for surgery
Surgery to reduce the labia, as usual, is performed for the following indications:
- Asymmetry of small or excessively large labia, as well as those cases when the labia minora protrude from under the labia majora;
- Severe stretching of the labia due to difficult childbirth;
- Fusion of the labia (most often a congenital anomaly);
- Age-related changes in the external genitalia;
- Discomfort while moving and playing sports;
- Serious sexual disorders caused by complexes about the appearance of the labia.
You should know that labiaplasty does not affect the vagina! This particular operation is aimed only at the aesthetic side of the external genitalia, namely its improvement. Therefore, one should not expect any changes in the functionality of the organs.
Indications and contraindications
Labiaplasty is aimed at correcting the appearance of the perineum and is performed at the request of the woman. Modern methods effectively make it possible to both reduce the labia and enlarge them.
From a medical point of view, surgery makes sense if:
- when stretched, the length of the labia minora exceeds 4–6 cm;
- the minor lips in a standing position are extended beyond the folds of the major lips by more than 1–3 cm;
- the edges of the labia minora have a rough folded shape, sometimes uneven, scalloped, and their pigmentation and structure indicate constant rubbing and compression;
- decreased sensitivity of vulvar tissue due to injury, scarring of wounds or prolonged mechanical irritation;
- the labia are absent or underdeveloped.
For women who have not given birth, adjustment of the external genitalia is not performed. This can provoke the development of complications during childbirth.
Refuse surgery due to the risk of developing vaginal gaping if:
- the pelvic floor is weakened;
- the walls and entrance to the vagina are stretched or naturally large;
- the internal female organs have a tendency to droop.
In such cases, intimate plastic surgery offers a comprehensive solution to the problem. An operation is performed to strengthen the pelvic floor and reduce the size of the vagina. Labiaplasty (correction, formation and restoration of the labia) is also recommended.
Preparation for the procedure
Reduction of the labia minora is a rather serious operation, which then requires long-term rehabilitation. Almost all patients who experienced this procedure complained of a very long and painful recovery period, despite the fact that no matter how high-quality the procedure itself was.
Before the operation, the patient will need to undergo the following tests:
- Blood test (general + biochemical);
- Blood test for HIV, syphilis and viral hepatitis;
- Blood test to determine blood group and Rh factor;
- Coagulogram (blood clotting test);
- Electrocardiogram;
- Consultations with certain specialists (in the presence of specific chronic diseases).
Postoperative Tips
No doctor will announce the exact timing of the rehabilitation period, since everything depends on the type of procedure and the individual characteristics of the body. Therefore, it is so important to listen to the medical recommendations received specifically from your treating specialist.
In order for recovery to be faster and less painful, experts insist on taking accompanying medications. Their name, dosage and schedule of administration must be prescribed by the doctor. Changing even the order of taking pills is strictly prohibited.
Since correction of the labia usually does not require a long stay in the hospital, the woman is sent home on the same day at her own responsibility. This means that the patient will have to be especially careful about personal intimate hygiene without stopping taking the prescribed pills.
If a representative of the fair sex is already taking some narrow-profile medications to stabilize her health due to a chronic illness, then it is necessary to inform the doctor about this in advance. Not all prescribed medications can be combined well with each other.
It is worth preparing for the fact that in the next few days the state of health of the operated lady may be far from ideal due to:
- swelling;
- bloody discharge;
- pain in the delicate area.
In order not to aggravate the clinical picture, and also to promote speedy healing, you need to follow simple rules. We are talking about refusing to visit the solarium, drinking alcoholic beverages, tight, constricting underwear, and active physical activity.

How is labia resection performed?
Doctors can correct the shape of the labia under general or local anesthesia. The operation takes a little less than an hour. The type of anesthesia is selected based on the complexity of the procedure, the patient’s condition and her personal preferences. But even with general anesthesia, an inpatient stay is not required.
The labia can be reduced by the most common method using a scalpel or by more advanced modern instruments (laser or radio knife). Each of these methods has its own advantages and disadvantages, and the final choice will be made by the doctor and the patient based on the condition and structure of the tissues of the labia. The most important thing for a woman is to focus her attention on choosing a good specialist, since the outcome of the operation will depend on his skills. During the consultation, the doctor will select the most appropriate labiaplasty method.
Contraindications to surgery to enlarge the labia majora
- Inflammation of the genital organs, including those caused by STDs. In this case, you must first cure the inflammatory process, and then carry out correction.
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding - lactation. During these periods, any effects on the body are extremely undesirable.
- Tendency to form keloid scars. This condition is hereditary and patients, as a rule, are aware of this peculiarity.
- Reduced blood clotting. In this case, you first need to improve your performance and then retake the tests. Most women, after preliminary preparation, can undergo this procedure.
- Feeling unwell, high temperature, exacerbation of chronic diseases - you need to postpone the operation until you recover.
- Critical days.
Exacerbation of chronic diseases
In other cases, you can contact the University Clinic and change the shape of the labia majora according to your desire.
Operation details
Plastic surgery of the labia minora is carried out in a surgical department. Typically, the length of the operation ranges from 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the characteristics of the case, the skills of the doctor and the type of anesthesia chosen.
Reduction of the labia minora is carried out by excision of their anterior edge in accordance with the characteristics of the individual structure of the external genitalia. In this case, the surgeon will pay special attention to the important protective function of the labia minora for the entire genitourinary system of a woman - too much or complete excision of them is absolutely unacceptable. The operation is completed by suturing the edges of the wound with a double-row suture, which will subsequently resolve (1st row - hemostatic, 2nd - cosmetic).
Before deciding to undergo this operation, any woman must weigh all the benefits and risks of such a procedure. Always remember that something can go wrong and the end result will not satisfy you. Any operation is a risk. Take care and love yourself!
Asymmetry and elongation of the labia minora occurs in approximately 25% of women, and some wish to undergo correction and reduction at home, without the help of a plastic surgeon. Are there techniques to do this? Or is reducing the labia minora at home a pipe dream that should be forgotten? Genitals are considered elongated if their length exceeds 5 cm at maximum lateral extension. As a rule, they go beyond large ones and cause their owner considerable discomfort.
Reducing the labia minora at home: is it necessary?
In fact, lengthening the labia minora is not a pathology, and reducing them at home does not always make sense. Even if they are large in size, this is in no way harmful to health.
Treatment is recommended in the following cases:
- sagging, unaesthetic appearance of the lips, leading to the appearance of complexes and psycho-emotional problems;
- discomfort when walking, intimacy, sports, daily activities;
- regular trauma to the external organs of the reproductive system, leading to their inflammation, redness and itching;
- feeling of constraint when wearing shorts, trousers, swimsuit, difficulty choosing underwear.
All of the above indications are relative - if they exist, it makes sense to consider the possibility of plastic surgery, but it is not at all necessary. But you should not plan to reduce the labia minora at home - this is associated with a huge risk and is fraught with serious complications.
Benefits of labia majora augmentation at the University Clinic
- Highly qualified specialists performing the procedure - doctors engaged in this practice have extensive experience in the field of correction of the intimate area. This guarantees a highly aesthetic result and the absence of complications.
- The safety of the drugs used – fillers and hyaluronic acid are well accepted by the body. The compositions used do not release toxic substances during resorption.
- After the fillers and hyaluronic acid are absorbed, there are no residual changes left in the tissues, so this procedure can be performed an unlimited number of times.
- The procedure for enlarging the labia majora does not change the properties of the tissues, and therefore does not affect pregnancy and childbirth. This allows lip augmentation even for those women who are planning pregnancy and childbirth in the future.
- The result is as natural as possible, so no one will determine that the woman has changed the contours of her genitals.
- In the clinic you can undergo all examinations prescribed before the procedure. This will allow the increase to be carried out as quickly as possible.
Specialists at the University Clinic offer the service of labia majora enlargement to all women, regardless of age, number of pregnancies, childbirths and other characteristics of the body. After such a correction, the intimate area will look very attractive, and the woman will feel much more confident.
Reducing the labia minora at home: can it be done?
Structurally, these organs are nothing more than stretched skin. Today there are no known methods and technologies that allow you to correct the size of the labia at home without surgical intervention. Herbs, creams, peelings, diets and exercise are powerless against this problem. Often, cosmetic products and procedures cannot cope with wrinkles, scars and stretch marks that are only a couple of millimeters deep or wide. So what can we say about stretched skin several centimeters long?
Reducing the labia minora at home: risks and possible complications
Undoubtedly, reducing the labia minora at home is impossible. Attempting to do this surgically or otherwise can lead to blood poisoning and even death.
Even labiaplasty (plasty of the labia minora), performed under sterile conditions, in compliance with the rules of asepsis and antisepsis, leads to adverse consequences.
The most common ones are:
- postoperative bleeding caused by suture dehiscence or soft tissue rupture;
- the addition of a secondary infection due to non-compliance with personal hygiene, asepsis and antiseptics, premature discontinuation of antibiotics;
- the formation of ugly scars or uneven scars, the formation of hematomas in the genital area;
- loss of sensitivity, due to which a woman ceases to experience pleasure during intimacy.
Statistics show that 80% of girls are satisfied with the results of labiaplasty. But only on condition that it was performed by a certified specialist in a specialized clinic. Reducing the labia minora allows you to forget about many problems, but it cannot be done at home.
We bring the intimate area to perfection: surgery to reduce the labia and its features
Women strive for perfection in everything. And they want even intimate places hidden from prying eyes to be flawless. It is precisely these individuals who are demanding of themselves that may benefit from labia reduction surgery.
What is the name of labia reduction surgery?
Surgery to reduce the labia is called labiaplasty. Manipulation allows not only to change the size of a woman’s external genitalia, but also to adjust their shape if necessary.
Doctors can perform work on both the labia minora and labia majora.
In the first case, the operation lasts only 30 minutes, but correction of the shape and size of the labia majora requires much more time and is considered more difficult to perform.
Labiaplasty is performed under general anesthesia.
Description of the procedure
Correction of the labia towards reduction will make them more accurate, corresponding to the overall size of other areas of the external genitalia. It is done by excision of excess tissue surgically (with a scalpel, radio knife or laser).
The operation is performed under local anesthesia, consisting of injections of an anesthetic drug and anesthetic cream. The size of the area to be cleaned is determined during a preliminary inspection. After removing excess epithelial and mucosal tissue, sutures made of absorbable material are applied. In general, the process takes 30-60 minutes.
Both labia minora and labia majora can be corrected. The operations are somewhat different from each other. We recommend reading about lipofilling of the buttocks. From the article you will learn about the advantages and features of this procedure, indications and contraindications, preparation and methods of performing the operation.
And here is more information about how to choose compression garments after liposuction and how long they should be worn.
Reasons for visiting a doctor
The reason for the intervention is the unaesthetic appearance of the labia, as well as physical discomfort caused by their size. The mucous membrane can be injured by underwear, causing inflammation. Disproportionate labia create additional difficulties during childbirth and can interfere with intimate life and sports. This problem:
- can be congenital;
- occurs after childbirth;
- appears due to hormonal disorders.
The operation corrects the following features:
- asymmetry of the labia;
- their stretching in width or length;
- fusion of the labia;
- tissue laxity.
Along with the size, you can improve the shape of the problem part of the body.
Asymmetry of the labia
Asymmetry of the labia is not a pathology, does not affect the reproductive abilities of the female body and the functioning of the hormonal system, but can cause a lot of discomfort:
- discomfort in wearing tight clothes and tight-fitting underwear;
- frequent irritation in the perineal area;
- problems when playing sports on exercise machines.
In addition, many women are embarrassed by the aesthetic appearance of the external genitalia, and this can lead to the formation of strong complexes.
Labia minora defect
Hypertrophy is a defect of the labia minora, which can be their elongation, enlargement, or asymmetry. The problem is most often acquired in nature and can develop as a result of:
- rough sexual acts;
- complicated childbirth;
- rapid weight loss;
- chronic vulvitis (inflammation of the vulva) with frequent relapses.
Vulvovaginitis
Hypertrophy can develop after piercing in the intimate area or surgery on the vulva. Often the defect appears as age-related changes - the labia lose their color and wrinkle.
The problem is aesthetic in nature, although doctors and women themselves claim that it is possible:
- chronic irritation of the external genital area;
- loss of skin tone, lips simply sag;
- change in shade - the labia become pale or distinctly dark.
Large labia after childbirth
Problems with the labia majora and minora most often arise after childbirth, even if they went as normal. We are talking about ruptures, overstretching, which is possible when a fetus that is too large passes through the birth canal or the woman lacks physical fitness or unprepared muscles.
If ruptures occur, doctors apply stitches after childbirth - this is done without taking into account the aesthetic aspect, and gynecologists are not plastic surgeons after all. The result may be asymmetry of the labia majora, their sagging, and deformation of shape.
Uneven edges of the labia minora
In medicine, there is such a thing as jagged labia minora - their edges are uneven, reminiscent of cockscombs. This is only a physiological feature of the structure of the external genitalia; there will be no problems with conception or childbirth at any age. In this case, surgery to correct the labia minora solves only an aesthetic problem.
Contraindications
Surgery to reduce the labia minora, like the labia majora, is not performed in several cases:
- infection;
- venereal disease;
- development of the inflammatory process in the genital organs;
- pregnancy and lactation;
- poor blood clotting;
- diabetes mellitus in a severe stage;
- oncology;
- mental disorder;
- age under 18 years;
- menstruation and the next week after it.
Preparatory stage
Before surgery, consultation with a surgeon, tests, and the patient’s efforts to prepare her own body are necessary. The doctor will determine the scale of the problem and the specific way to solve it by examining the woman in a gynecological chair. Before surgery you need to take tests:
- blood and urine (general);
- per group and Rh factor;
- for HIV, hepatitis, syphilis;
- for clotting.
2 weeks before the intervention, the patient should quit smoking and take blood thinning medications (aspirin, tocopherol acetate, fatty acids). Perhaps she will be advised to take vitamins. One day before surgery you should not have sex.
Technique for circumcision of the labia minora
The intervention is performed under sterile conditions, having previously anesthetized the area of the body undergoing changes. Plastic surgery is done in two ways:
- linear resection, that is, removal of tissue along the edge;
- excision of V-shaped areas.
Once the surgery is complete, absorbable sutures and a bandage are applied. The patient can go home the same day.
Reduction of the labia majora is a more extensive intervention. Therefore, it can also be performed under general anesthesia. One way to reduce their size is liposuction. If the excess value is caused not by an excessive amount of fat, but by other reasons, excess tissue is excised and then stitched.
Both aesthetic surgeries can be performed with the traditional method or with a radio wave knife. Laser labia reduction has recently become popular. This is the least traumatic method in which radiation is used instead of a scalpel. It gives results faster, with a shorter recovery period. The surgeon's manipulations during laser surgery are the same as during traditional surgery.
To learn how to perform surgery to reduce the labia minora with excision of V-shaped areas, watch this video:
Stitches on the labia
During labiaplasty, sutures are placed on the labia after the entire procedure is completed. Self-absorbable material (synthetic threads) is used, a bandage is not applied, and the seams are treated with bactericidal ointment.
The threads are removed from the body after the edges of the wound have completely healed - at 20-21 days of rehabilitation. If during recovery the patient complains of irritation in the labia area and severe itching, then the doctor can “forcibly” remove the threads.
Rehabilitation
The recovery period largely determines the visual effect. It requires:
- do daily douching with antiseptic solutions;
- apply wound-healing creams or ointments to the seams;
- 7 - 10 days take antibiotics;
- 2 - 3 weeks to sit less and not wear tight underwear;
- protect the operated area from mechanical damage and friction;
- avoid hot baths, solariums, saunas, swimming pools and swimming in open water for 2 - 3 weeks;
- don't have sex for a month;
- postpone exercise for a few weeks.
Since the vulva is well supplied with blood, healing in this area proceeds quite quickly.
Surgery on the labia and medications for healing
To speed up the healing process of wounds after surgery on the labia, doctors prescribe specific medications to patients, which also serve to prevent the development of postoperative complications:
- antibacterial agents - taken for 5 days, prevent the development of the inflammatory process of the wound surface;
- painkillers - it is advisable to take them in the first 1-3 days of the recovery period; non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs are most often used;
- healing ointment (Bepanten) - appropriate for severe itching in the suture area, burning sensation.
In the first 3-5 days of rehabilitation, daily treatment of sutures with Chlorhexidine and Miramistin is mandatory.
Possible side effects
You may feel discomfort immediately after the painkillers wear off. The labia and adjacent tissues remain swollen for 3-4 days, then gradually acquire their normal appearance. In addition to these mandatory signs for all, the following may occur:
- bruises;
- change in sensitivity of the operated area;
- feeling of tightness in the vulva area.
Laser labia reduction is accompanied by fewer side effects. The radiation quickly coagulates blood vessels right during surgery, which is why rehabilitation lasts less.
At what age can you reduce your labia?
Plastic surgery to reduce the labia is not performed under the age of 18 unless there are specific medical indications. Every girl can undergo surgery, all that is needed is her desire and the absence of contraindications.
Labiaplasty does not affect the functioning of the hormonal system and reproductive functions.
Watch this video about how the labia minora is corrected:
How to reduce labia without surgery
It is possible to reduce the labia without a full-fledged operation; the effect will be positive, but it may not last long.
Laser reduction or labiaplasty for the labia minora
Laser reduction of the labia minora is a procedure characterized by a short recovery period (maximum 2 weeks), no need for a repeat session, and zero risk of scarring. During the manipulation, the laser beam “solders” the blood vessels together, so the likelihood of side effects, complications such as infection of the wound surface, and bleeding is minimized.
Labiaplasty for the labia minora using this method is performed without general anesthesia and does not require any specific preparation or hospitalization of the woman. Cost – 15,000 rubles.
Lifting
Lifting – suturing of deformed areas using threads. The manipulation takes place without general anesthesia; local anesthesia can be used. There is no rehabilitation period; the results obtained last for 2-3 years. The cost of the procedure is 10-15 thousand rubles.
If the commissure of the labia minora is deformed (for example, after a difficult childbirth), and the entrance to the vagina becomes slightly open, then this is fraught with the constant entry of intestinal microflora into the internal genital organs. The result will be chronic inflammatory, fungal diseases. The problem can be solved by suturing the deformed area of the labia minora; thread lifting can be used according to indications.
Liposuction
If the deformation of the labia minora occurs against the background of a woman’s general obesity, then it is advisable to perform liposuction - to remove subcutaneous fat, “extra” skin and give the organ the correct shape. Most often, such manipulation is carried out simultaneously with abdominoplasty, so that as a result, normal proportions between body volume and external genitalia are preserved.
Liposuction
Examples of unsuccessful labia minora resection operations
A manipulation after which the patient complains of:
- nagging, tugging pain that persists for 2 weeks or more;
- lack of sensitivity in the area of the outer labia;
- a feeling of numbness, tingling, burning and any other discomfort that continues 2-3 weeks after surgery.
The surgeon’s failure can also be called an unsatisfactory result from an aesthetic point of view - the lips have become smaller, but at the same time their shape is no longer correct.
According to statistics, such problems arise extremely rarely and most often depend on the experience of the doctor - the labia minora are literally “pierced” with nerve endings and it is not difficult to damage them.
Price
The price for surgical correction of the labia is not fixed, since in each case there may be nuances. It is influenced by the qualifications of the doctor, the choice of anesthesia, the scale of the problem, and the length of stay in the clinic. Laser labiaplasty will cost 10,000 - 42,000 rubles.
The traditional method can cost from 24,000 rubles. up to 46,000 rub. Surgery on the labia majora will cost 18,000 - 55,000 rubles. In each case, the price is calculated individually.
We recommend reading about mammoplasty and rehabilitation after surgery. From the article you will learn about proper care of sutures, medications needed during the recovery period, the time when you should start doing massage, and physical exercises.
And here is more information about lip augmentation using the Parisian technique.
A decrease in the size of the labia leads to the fact that the labia minora no longer protrude beyond the edges of the labia majora. They still remain closed, covering the entrance to the vagina and clitoris.
The operation does not have a negative effect on sensations during sex and will not interfere with future pregnancy and childbirth.
On the contrary, women cease to be ashamed of their bodies, which has a beneficial effect on both their emotional state and intimate life.

Reducing the labia minora at home: tips and tricks
Patients who are dissatisfied with the appearance of their genitals need to take a sober look at the situation. If they do not cause inconvenience, nothing should be done. Women live happily with asymmetry for many years, and their sexual partners do not consider this phenomenon ugly.
Girls with complexities can be advised to stop regularly examining their lips and worrying about their peculiar shape or size. Each person is unique - and this makes him attractive in his own way.
Is this a defect and what is its cause?
A common reason why a woman or girl has large labia is the individual anatomical structure of the organs. That is, this shape and size of the labia are determined genetically. This does not have any health consequences, but from an aesthetic point of view it may not suit the owner.
Within certain limits, childbirth can also change the size of the labia, especially if it is not the first one or has occurred with complications. Finally, the age factor is also important, because after forty years the soft tissue of the labia may sag somewhat, which visually increases their area.
Sometimes the right and left labia differ in size. The reason that one labia is larger than the other also often lies in the anatomical features of a person. Somewhat less often, such a defect becomes the result of injury.
Reducing the labia minora at home: risks and possible complications

Statistics show that 80% of girls are satisfied with the results of labiaplasty. But only on condition that it was performed by a certified specialist in a specialized clinic. Reducing the labia minora allows you to forget about many problems, but it cannot be done at home.
Consequences of labia deformation
Women suffer most from hypertrophied (excessively enlarged) labia minora. This feature can be congenital or acquired. With age, as a result of difficult childbirth or hormonal imbalances, skin folds sag, stretch, become rough and lose sensitivity.
Due to the abundant blood supply to this area, hypertrophied lips swell and acquire dark, bluish-black pigmentation. They roll up when walking and rub hard against clothing, which causes inflammation.
The labia majora also cause a lot of trouble. Sweating, poor ventilation of the vagina and abrasions contribute to the spread of pathogenic microflora.
Such deviations are not considered a pathology, but they increase the risk of diseases of the genitourinary system, worsen sex life, reduce a woman’s self-esteem and bring physical discomfort. Therefore, labia reduction is one of the most popular medical services that plastic surgery provides to women.
