Face creams containing peptide complexes are among the cosmetics for anti-aging care. The products are intended for mature skin, they perfectly smooth out wrinkles, restore the face to a more youthful and radiant appearance, and tighten the oval. We present to your attention a rating of the best, in our opinion, creams with peptides. The selection includes highly effective products that are recommended by both cosmetologists and ordinary people.
How do peptides work in cosmetology?
Peptides are used in cosmetology due to the following properties of these particles:
- the ability to restore blood circulation and oxygen supply to the skin;
- normalization of the moisture level of the dermis;
- increased production of collagen and elastin;
- delivery of nutritional components of care products to the deep layers of the skin;
- counteracting the aging process;
- neutralization of the effects of toxins on the dermis;
- restoration of the process of skin cell division characteristic of youth.
Synthetic peptides found in creams are particles of alpha amino acids that have the ability to penetrate deep enough into tissues. They are used as transport to deliver nutritional components missing to the skin.
The benefits and harms of peptides
Peptides for aging skin are beneficial, but in some cases they are also harmful. The benefits of exposure to these substances are as follows:
- the process of cell division accelerates, that is, the skin rejuvenates;
- it receives more nutrients, which also promotes regeneration and increased elasticity;
- the protective properties of the epidermis are enhanced, it reacts less to negative influences from the inside and outside;
- a noticeable cosmetic effect appears, that is, increased skin elasticity, disappearance of acne, irritation and greasy shine, improved color, disappearance of bruises around the eyes, fine wrinkles, swelling and spots.
It is difficult to harm cosmetics with peptides, but a negative reaction can still occur:
- If a woman is allergic to any of these substances. They are used with auxiliary components; they themselves are artificially created.
- If you have diseases: diabetes, tumors, infections, dermatological problems, rheumatoid arthritis. Peptides, due to their active action, can provoke an exacerbation.
Some women complain about the lack of effect from cosmetics. But this may mean that it is too early for them to use such products, since the skin itself copes with recovery.
We recommend reading about the benefits of using peptides in injections for facial skin. From the article you will learn about the mechanism of action of peptides, use for mesotherapy, before and after results, the best drugs. And here is more information about how to choose a cream for mature skin.
Opinion of cosmetologists
Professionals speak well of procedures with peptides, preferring to analyze the effectiveness of specific drugs. For example, this review refers to VEC peptide biorevitalizants
Another specialist notes that the drug is suitable for restoring skin after plastic surgery.
In this review, a cosmetologist praises Revi peptide injections.
Meso-Wharton P199 has also earned a good reputation among professionals.
In general, cosmetologists note that peptides in injections are more effective than those in conventional cosmetics (for example, creams).
Experts also advise not to forget about the contraindications that peptide drugs also have.
What do peptides contain?
Peptides can be contained in external products (creams, masks, serums for the face, eyelids), injectable preparations and capsules, powders for oral administration. The first ones are used in normal daily care, but it takes several weeks to get the effect.
Preparations for injection are used during mesotherapy or biorevitalization. They provide the expected result faster and more pronounced. But the procedures are accompanied by side effects: redness of the skin, papules.
Peptide complex - what is it?
A peptide complex is a set of particles of different alpha amino acids, the action of which not only does not contradict each other, but also gives a more noticeable effect than when using each component separately. Each of them differs in composition and type of effect on the skin.
For example, clotorphine stimulates collagen production, which provides a lifting effect. Argireline works to relieve muscle spasm, that is, smoothes out wrinkles. Rigin relieves inflammation, melanostatin-5TM eliminates hyperpigmentation.
Several peptides are almost always used in cosmetic products. But the packaging must bear the designation “peptide complex” or IPH.
Types of peptides and their characteristics
It is worthwhile to dwell in more detail on such criteria as the composition of cosmetics with peptides.
There are so many types of peptide compounds, so many functions. Some of them are intertwined and duplicated, but there is still some differentiation. Here is a list of the most commonly used peptides in cosmetics and describe their main properties:
- Clotorphine
. Stimulates the synthesis of elastin, triggers the mechanism of its proper assembly, which provides a lifting effect. - DKI
. Slows down the process of premature aging, helps moisturize the epidermis, and restores tone. It is often used as a preparatory product for peeling or laser resurfacing, because... can prevent the appearance of scars and irritation after these procedures. - Palmitoyl tripeptide-5
. This peptide complex is most attractive to cosmetologists because... it is multifunctional. Penetrates perfectly into the skin, quickly activates the synthesis of collagen fibers and mucopolysaccharides. Increases the elasticity of the dermis. Stimulates regenerative resources, ensuring rapid regeneration of connective tissue and vascular walls. Effective in strengthening the skin and in the fight even against deep wrinkles. - Palmitoyl pentapeptide-4 (matrixyl)
. Refers to regulatory peptides, because participates in the regulation and restoration of beneficial proteins elastin and collagen, which are building components of the skin. Significantly improves the appearance of the skin. - Hexapeptide-3 acetate (argireline)
. Blocks the neurotransmitter catecholamine, which is responsible for nerve impulses. Relieves muscle spasms and tension in facial muscles, thereby eliminating fine wrinkles. The effect of hexapeptide-3 acetate is comparable to the effect of botulinum toxin, but does not have the same side effect as the “mask”. - Aqua-dextran-nonapeptide-1 (melanostatin-5TM)
. Lightens the skin, eliminates age spots. - Palmitoyl tetrapeptide-3
. Effectively absorbed by the skin, because the base - part of immunoglobulin G - is attached to hexadecanoic acid. This complex is made from rice and soy. The main action is aimed at neutralizing inflammatory processes and activating protective functions. The beneficial effect is also expressed in moisturizing, increasing elasticity, eliminating dark circles and swelling under the eyes. - Palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7 (regin)
. Inhibits inflammatory processes, optimizes the amount of cytokines, rejuvenates the skin. - Acetyl octapeptide-3 (New snap-8)
. Destabilizes the long chain of proteins that are responsible for muscle contraction, thereby helping to smooth out wrinkles. The relaxing effect is higher than that of argireline.

Patient reviews
Patients also respond well to peptide biorevitalization and mesotherapy.
Like doctors, users primarily share their impressions of specific peptide products.
The author of this review was satisfied with REVI biorevitalizant. According to the 33-year-old woman, the skin becomes more hydrated and the complexion improves.
Here, a user praises the Meso-Wharton P199 peptide drug.
This woman (40 years old), on the contrary, was dissatisfied with the drug with Meso-Wharton P199 peptides. Moreover, she performed the procedure in a clinic with a good reputation. The doctor observed all precautions, but apparently did not warn the patient about possible allergic reactions.
Biorevitalization and mesotherapy with peptides are effective procedures that improve the condition of the skin and slow down its aging. Of course, unpredictable reactions of the body are possible, so it is important to choose an experienced doctor and a high-quality drug. If you are afraid of injections, maintain youthful skin with cosmetics with peptides. These substances are also found in protein foods - meat, cereals, milk, kefir and cottage cheese, fish, legumes, and especially in soybeans.

Reviews from cosmetologists present peptides in cosmetology (injections) as a unique tool that allows solving various aesthetic problems and significantly increasing the effectiveness of other injection techniques.
From a biochemical point of view, this substance is a biologically active natural or synthetic compound of molecules, consisting of two or more amino acids linked by a peptide bond. These short chains of proteins have unique properties: with their help, it becomes possible to streamline all processes occurring in the body. Peptides seem to launch a rejuvenation program: obeying their “command”, the body again begins to produce the required amount of proteins, which leads to effective rejuvenation of all tissues.
They activate the skin's production of elastin and collagen. Under their influence, it regains firmness and elasticity, the relief is visually leveled, and the number of wrinkles is reduced.

Facial after
After the procedure, the skin needs special care, so during the rehabilitation period it is important to strictly follow the specialist’s recommendations to prevent adverse reactions. In the first 2–3 days, papules, bruises, and hematomas may form at the sites where the biorevitalizant was administered. Minor soreness may also be a concern. All these symptoms are considered normal and disappear on their own within a few days. If the condition worsens and the pathological symptoms worsen, you should immediately consult a doctor.
Rehabilitation lasts on average 2 – 5 days. During this period, it is important to follow these rules:
- Refuse to use decorative cosmetics.
- Regularly use creams and ointments prescribed by your doctor to eliminate bruises and swelling.
- Do not touch, rub or scratch the puncture sites.
- Refuse to visit the solarium, swimming pool, bathhouse, sauna.
- Before going outside, apply sunscreen to your face and wear a wide-brimmed hat.
- Refrain from intense physical activity.
- Eliminate from the diet spicy, salty, fatty foods that cause swelling.
- Stop drinking alcohol and cigarettes.
Peptides for skin: oligopeptides, biomimetic
Among the peptides used for skin rejuvenation, the following deserve special attention:
- Oligopeptides , considered by cosmetics specialists to be an “elixir for old age.” They contain up to 20 amino acids, so the substances increase the level of moisture in the thickness of the skin and accelerate the process of formation of new cells of the collagen layer. This makes it more elastic and fine wrinkles disappear.
The most famous component of this group is palmitol oligopeptide. Based on it, “Sleep and Peel Resurfacing night cream” from Filorga (for the face), “Idealist” from Estee Lauder (for eyelids), “Predermine” from Darphin (serum), “Lisse Minute” from Clarins (con from Planeta Organica) were created , collagen cream from Librederm.
- Biomimetic peptides , which first appeared in South Korean cosmetology, there are more than 70 in total. These substances are introduced mainly into preparations for mesotherapy and biorevitalization, for example, DERMAHEAL, REVOFIL, AQUASHINE. Biomimetic peptides stimulate an increase in moisture levels, the growth of collagen and elastin cells, suppress the formation of components that reduce the volume of hyaluronic acid, and brighten the skin.
Benefits of peptide biorevitalization
The procedure is more likely to be mesotherapy than biorevitalization - firstly, the drugs are introduced deeper, and secondly, their composition is much more extensive than that of traditional biorevitalizants.
Compositions containing peptides, which are presented in the Marina Ryabus clinic:
- Mesoxanthine;
- Mezovarton;
- Mesoai;
- Mesoscalpt.
The advantages of peptide injection therapy are:
- noticeable results after the first session;
- long lasting result;
- launching natural regenerative processes in cells;
- skin healing;
- comfort of the procedure;
- the ability to choose a drug that best suits the patient’s needs.
Biorevitalization with hyaluronic acid
As a rule, we perform biorevitalization with hyaluronic acid preparations. These are Neauvia Hydro Deluxe, Juvederm Volite, etc. You can find out more about the procedure here.

Peptides or hyaluronic acid - which is better?
Which is better, peptides or hyaluronic acid, needs to be decided depending on the problems and age. Dehydration is a common cause of premature skin aging for young women, and in this case, formulations with “hyaluronic acid” are sufficient. Peptides up to 30 years may be needed for inflammation, uneven complexion, and pigmentation.
And at a more mature age it is better to use cosmetics with them. If hyaluronic acid only increases the level of moisture in the dermis, then peptides affect the biological processes in it. Thanks to the active substances, young cells are formed faster and in greater volume. This gives rejuvenation.
What are peptides
Peptides are formations of amino acid residues in the form of short protein chains up to 50 units long. In essence, peptides are components of proteins, but they are characterized by some differences:
- The molecular weight is much smaller, which means that the peptides penetrate almost unhindered into the deep layers of the epidermis.
- Formations correct metabolic processes at the intracellular level.
- Peptides are stable compounds that help new cells function properly while increasing the activity of mature ones.

In the human body, peptides are involved in regulating many processes:
- control blood pressure levels;
- trigger the production of gastric juice;
- stimulate digestive function;
- dull the feeling of pain;
- normalize sleep;
- coordinate memory.
Peptides in a pharmacy for skin
Skin peptides can be purchased as vitamin supplements at the pharmacy:
- California Gold Nutrition, capsules with collagen, hyaluronic acid and vitamin C;
- Jarrow Formulas with tryptophan;
- "Zhou Nutrition" with collagen and hydrolyzed protein;
- Now Foods also contains collagen.
Capsules and powders are taken orally in courses. They also have a beneficial effect on the skin, making it denser and smoother, eliminating dryness, inflammation, and dullness.
There are also pharmaceutical cosmetics with peptide components:
- serum, eyelid and face creams “Derma E”;
- Azelique oil from Serumdipity;
- creams “Andalou Naturals”, “NutriBiotic”, “Mad Hippie Skin Care Products”;
- shampoo "Biotene H-24".
These products not only care for the skin, but also treat it.
Effect of peptides on cells
Peptide chains are involved in regulating cell division, so they have a beneficial effect on the skin, activating collagen synthesis, accelerating tissue regeneration, and stimulating blood and lymph circulation.
The following groups of peptides are actively used for the biorevitalization procedure:
- Stimulants. Stimulate regenerative functions, actively healing damage to the skin.
- Stabilizers. Improves the protective and antioxidant functions of the epidermis.
- Blockers. Helps relax facial muscles that take an active part in facial expressions.
- Regulators of melanogenesis. Normalizes skin color and gets rid of age spots.
- Immunomodulators. Increase local immunity.
- Neurotransmitters. Increases the sensitivity threshold.
- Activating blood and lymph flow. They strengthen blood vessels, making them elastic, and help normalize lymph flow, providing an anti-edematous effect.
Cosmetics with peptides: is it worth using?
Whether it is worth using cosmetics with peptides in a particular case must be decided after consulting a specialist. Up to 30 years of age, in the absence of serious problems, you can do without it, using cleansing compositions and moisturizing creams, masks. But if at this and younger ages there are age spots, inflammation, severe dryness, products with peptides will solve them faster and better than ordinary cosmetics, even expensive ones.
It is advisable to use them after 35 years. Peptides will not only improve the appearance of the skin, they will slow down and reverse age-related changes in its cells, delaying the appearance of more noticeable signs of aging. And after 40 years, it is advisable to inject drugs with these substances. The result will be rapid hydration and strengthening of the skin, lifting, and smoothing of wrinkles. You can supplement your care with creams with active ingredients, and all this will make you look younger for a long time.
We recommend reading about the use of stem cells in cosmetics. From the article you will learn about what plant stem cells are, the reasons for their use in cosmetology, the benefits and harms of cosmetics with stem cells. And here is more information about niacinamide in cosmetics.
External products with peptides, like injection procedures, cannot replace plastic surgery. But their use gives a very noticeable effect if the substances are selected in accordance with skin problems. And these won’t necessarily be the most expensive peptide serums and creams.
When is the procedure necessary?
Peptides and other active components contained in cosmetic cocktails effectively eliminate excess pigmentation on the face and neck, and reduce the severity of age-related changes. The combination of peptides and hyaluronic acid allows you to achieve longer-lasting results. Course procedures using such drugs help:
- Reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles.
- Eliminate peeling, scars, scars.
- Restore skin after cosmetic procedures and tanning in a solarium.
- Remove bruises and dark circles around the eyes.
- Narrow pores.
- Give your face a healthy color.
- Remove dry, oily or sagging skin.
The mesotherapy procedure is effective for both young and mature skin. The greatest visible result is noticeable when the session is performed after the age of 35 years.

It is not easy to select effective and, therefore, the best preparations for biorevitalization. For example, Russian or Korean, Swiss or French pricks? Which is better - Aquashine, Revy, Princess Rich, Filorga, Tweis, Restylane, with peptides? What are they depending on the type of problem? Read more
How does a biorevitalization session work?
At the beginning of the session, the cosmetologist treats the problem area with anesthetic cream, then makes a subcutaneous injection. The desired effect is visible within a day after the procedure. After it, no special rehabilitation is required; it is enough not to do makeup for several days, not to touch your face, treat the injection site with antiseptic agents, and refrain from visiting the pool, sauna, or physical activity for two weeks.
Usually 3-4 biorevitalization procedures are enough, with a two-week break between them.
Along with biorevitalization, cosmetology uses such an effective injection procedure based on peptides as mesotherapy. What is its essence? It differs from biorevitalization in that it does not use hyaluronic acid, in addition, the effect of this procedure is less durable.
Mesotherapy is used to correct defects in the skin of the face and body. Using this procedure, the following problems are solved:
- cellulite and fat deposits (in the abdomen, thighs, buttocks);
- manifestations of rosacea;
- scars and cicatrices;
- enlarged pores, excess oily skin.
These injections are used in the form of courses of 4 to 5 procedures with a 10-day break between them. They require regular monitoring of the results obtained: after mesotherapy, the patient needs one-time injections with a break of several months.
Both procedures are contraindicated:
- if you have allergies or individual intolerances;
- during pregnancy or breastfeeding;
- with a predisposition to skin scarring;
- during the period of exacerbation of chronic diseases;
- for skin defects at the site of the proposed operation.
