When is aspirin used
Let's take a closer look at the cases in which this product can be used to combat imperfections in our skin.
For acne
The use of acetylsalicylic acid for isolated rashes (pimples) is justified by its excellent anti-inflammatory effect, and therefore a reduction in redness. And the drying effect that this drug has helps speed up the drying of the pimple. After all, as you know, “acne needs to be dehydrated.”
For acne
Acetylsalicylic acid will help you reduce the severity of acne inflammation, reduce pain and speed up skin healing. All this is achieved due to the anti-inflammatory and antibacterial (in combination with alcohol and antibiotics) properties of Aspirin. However, in case of extensive localization of rashes, it is highly not recommended to use scrubs. Because this can increase inflammation and even provoke new rashes.
For post-acne
Acetylsalicylic acid, penetrating into the layers of our dermis, reduces the severity of skin pigmentation, which causes the appearance of acne spots and post-acne. Accelerates the rate of regeneration and removes the dead layer of the epidermis.
Release forms
The pharmaceutical industry produces the drug in several forms:
- tablets for internal use to relieve high fever;
- effervescent tablets with vitamin C for dissolution in a liquid medium;
- aspirin-cardio for the prevention of thrombotic formations.
Only regular Aspirin is suitable for treating acne. Acetylsalicylic acid in tablets may additionally contain cellulose, corn starch, talc.
Ways to use aspirin
At home, this remedy can be used in three forms:
- Masks;
- Scrubs;
- Chatterboxes.
Do not forget that before using any product you must wash with warm water. You can use soap, gel or hydrophilic oil.
Before applying any composition to your facial skin, be sure to perform a simple allergy test by applying the composition to your wrist. If itching or redness appears, then this composition should definitely not be applied to the skin.
Now, let's take a closer look at each tool.
Scrub
It will be an excellent help in the fight against skin imperfections, but remember that it should not be used in the phase of active inflammation, as this may aggravate the clinical picture.
With bran
To prepare this aspirin scrub you need to take:
- Any bran - one tablespoon;
- Acetylsalicylic acid – one tablet;
- Boiled water.
Pour the bran with slightly warm boiled water until it becomes mushy. Grind the tablet to a powder and add it there too. Use the resulting mixture as a regular scrub and apply it in circular motions to your face for 3-4 minutes.
With soda and salt
A scrub made from soda, salt and aspirin will not only help reduce the severity of post-acne, but also prevent the appearance of blackheads on the skin.
To prepare it you will need:
- Foam for washing;
- Acetylsalicylic acid – one tablet;
- Soda – ¼ teaspoon;
- Fine table salt – ¼ teaspoon.
Grind the tablet to a powder and mix with salt and soda until a homogeneous powder is obtained. Squeeze out a little foam for washing and add the resulting mixture to it. Use this combination as you would a regular scrub and apply it in circular motions onto your face for 3-4 minutes.
Apply this product only locally, on the area of skin with post-acne, without getting on healthy skin. Otherwise, there is a big risk of drying it out.

- Lemon juice – 1 tsp;
- Acetylsalicylic acid - 5 tablets;
- Cottage cheese – 1 tsp.
Grind the tablets to a powder and mix it with a teaspoon of lemon juice. Add a little cottage cheese there and stir until mushy. Apply the mixture all over your face and keep for 10-15 minutes, then rinse with warm water. This product will have an excellent anti-inflammatory and whitening effect.
Do not replace lemon juice with citric acid. Because it does not have the full range of beneficial properties that lemon juice has.
From aspirin and activated carbon
Acetylsalicylic acid in combination with activated carbon has several excellent effects. Firstly, it deeply cleanses the epidermis, and secondly, it tightens pores. And the effect itself is more like peeling, but more gentle than when using organic acids.
To prepare you will need
- Gelatin – 1 teaspoon;
- Warm water – 2 teaspoons;
- Acetylsalicylic acid – 1 tablet;
- Activated carbon – 1 tablet.
First, pour one teaspoon of warm water over the gelatin and leave for 20 minutes to allow it to swell. Next, grind the charcoal tablet and the acetylsalicylic acid tablet, adding the same amount of warm water to them. Mix the gelatin mixture with the ground tablets and place them in a water bath. Thus, completely dissolve the gelatin and apply to problem areas. It is necessary to apply two or three layers after the previous one has dried.
It takes fifteen minutes to keep on your face, try to remove it as a film, and if that doesn’t work, rinse with warm water. If you feel dry, lubricate your face with moisturizer.
From aspirin and kefir
Kefir in this mask has a strong peeling and whitening effect, and in order to prepare it you will need to take:
- Acetylsalicylic acid – 4 tablets;
- Warm water – 5 drops;
- Kefir (ryazhenka) – a tablespoon.
If you don’t have kefir in the refrigerator, then you can replace it with natural yogurt, fermented baked milk or yogurt. The tablets are finely crushed to a powder, and warm water is added to it, then everything is mixed and a spoonful of kefir is added.
This mask is applied for 15 minutes to previously cleansed skin.
From aspirin and clay
Clay is an excellent anti-inflammatory and skin cleansing component, and in combination with acetylsalicylic acid the effect will be simply magnificent.
To prepare it you will need:
- Acetylsalicylic acid – two tablets;
- Clay – one teaspoon;
- Warm water – one teaspoon.
The tablets must be crushed well until a homogeneous powder is obtained and mixed with clay. Then add warm water and mix well. Now you can safely apply the mask to the T zone.
This mask is washed off after 30 minutes with warm water.
From aspirin and egg whites
To prepare this mask you will need:
- Egg – 1 piece;
- Acetylsalicylic acid – 1 tablet.
Crush the tablet until it becomes a uniform powder. Break the egg and separate the yolk from the white, mix with the resulting powder and apply the resulting mixture to your face using a cosmetic brush.
Keep it on the skin for 15 minutes and then wet the skin with warm water and massage the skin in a circular motion. You will feel the product become soapy under your fingers. After completely washing off the mask, rinse your face with cold water.
From aspirin and suprastin
This combination is used for massive rashes, alternating with local antibacterial drugs. However, such a mask should not be applied to allergic dermatitis - it can cause severe irritation. .
To prepare a mask of aspirin and suprastin you will need:
- 2 tablets of suprastin;
- 4 tablets of acetylsalicylic acid;
- 1/2 teaspoon of warm, boiled water.
If you do not have suprastin, then you can replace it with loratodine, cyteresine or diphenhydramine. All components must be thoroughly crushed until a homogeneous powder is obtained and water must be added to it.
The main thing here is to correctly calculate the amount of water, otherwise you can get a very liquid consistency that will be problematic to apply to the skin.
After applying the product, take a static position for 10-15 minutes, since after drying the mask tends to crumble. If dryness appears after application, lubricate the skin with a rich cream.
With hydrogen peroxide
A mask of aspirin and hydrogen peroxide should not be used by people who have thin and very sensitive skin. Since peroxide is a strong oxidizing agent, and the second component is acetylsalicylic acid, the effect can be extremely negative and cause severe irritation, peeling, and in the worst case, even chemical burns.
To prepare we will need:
- One teaspoon of hydrogen peroxide (1% or 3%);
- One teaspoon of boiled water;
- Three tablets of this drug.
Mix all ingredients thoroughly and apply to skin. After application, hydrogen peroxide starts a cascade process of oxidation, turning into oxygen and water, thereby destroying bacteria on the surface of the skin. This mask should be kept on the skin for no more than 10-15 minutes.
It is better to do this mask at night so that the sun's rays do not hit the skin, otherwise it will lead to photoaging.

Reviews
We invite you to read reviews from ordinary people about the use of aspirin for acne and inflammation on the skin of the face, and if you still have any questions, you can always ask them to a cosmetologist or pharmacist on our forum.
In the spring, when acne on my forehead began to peak, I started making masks from aspirin and kefir. I have made them before on the advice of my mother’s friend and I can safely say that this combination is simply excellent. Because pimples become less red and generally ripen faster.

I read some advice on the Internet and decided to make myself a mash from metronidazole and boric alcohol. I also decided to add a couple of tablets of this drug, as indicated in the adjacent recipe. And I didn’t regret it one bit, I applied this mash precisely to the inflammation in the morning and evening. I really liked the effect of morning application, since the pimples became much less red and invisible at first glance, and if the inflammation was very painful, then the pain became weaker.

I tried a combination of boric alcohol and aspirin. There was a result, of course, but it was not very impressive. I didn’t notice that “wow” effect that everyone is talking about. But I found another great way to relieve the redness of a pimple. You need to take a cotton wool, moisten it with drops of Visine and put it in the freezer for five minutes, and then stick this cotton wool to the inflammation.

Precautionary measures
There are a number of rules for using Aspirin as a medicine for acne. Compliance with these precautions will allow you to quickly cope with the problem and not harm the skin.
- Acetylsalicylic acid dries the skin. Therefore, avoid using this remedy too often.
- Aspirin can cause irritation, redness and peeling of the skin. To avoid this, do not apply masks to the entire face, but apply them pointwise. Don't forget about moisturizer.
- When using salicylic acid to treat acne, avoid using aspirin masks at the same time.
- The drug increases the photosensitivity of the skin. Therefore, experts advise applying sunscreen to your face when you go outside.
Important!
To avoid making your condition worse, consult a dermatologist before using Aspirin. Remember that the folk remedy that helps your friend will not always be useful for you.
