Consequences of biorevitalization: what is important to know before going to a cosmetologist?

What it is?

Biorevitalization is an injection method of administering drugs based on hyaluronic acid

Popular drugs of this type are: Juvederm HYDRATE, Restylane Vital Light, Teosyal Meso, Teosyal MesoExpert, Teosyal Pure Sense Redensity I, IAL System System), Ivor meso. These are drugs that contain only hyaluronic acid.

However, there are also combination preparations that, in addition to hyaluronic acid, contain vitamins, antioxidants, complexes of essential amino acids and peptides. These include, for example, NCTF 135, Jalupro (Yalupro), Revi (Revi).

The success of the procedure largely depends on the correctly selected drug to solve your problem. Each of the drugs has recommended protocols, but only after diagnosing the current skin condition will the doctor draw up a regimen for use.

When should you think about skin biorevitalization?

First of all, if you notice that your skin is dry and you can’t cope with it with regular care products.
This may be due to both external reasons, for example, returning from vacation, where they spent a lot of time under the sun, using inappropriate cosmetics and dry skin, and to internal reasons - changes in diet, aging processes, taking medications.

The biorevitalization procedure moisturizes the skin, improves color, and evens out its relief. The skin after the procedure becomes more elastic and smooth.

In addition, the introduction of active ingredients directly into the dermis improves metabolic processes, which has a positive effect on skin health.

This procedure is included in comprehensive protocols for reducing hyperpigmentation, treating scars and stretch marks, and anti-aging programs.

Indications for this procedure are as follows:

  • dry and dehydrated skin,
  • decreased tone and elasticity of the skin of the face, neck, décolleté,
  • loose body skin in areas such as the hands, abdomen, knees, inner thighs and shoulders
  • dull complexion

Side effects

Like any other cosmetic procedure, biorevitalization has a number of its disadvantages, which differ in their ability to be expressed in the form of side effects. Their occurrence is extremely rare, but is still possible due to the presence of certain negative factors. Most often, patients develop the following side effects:

  1. Extensive bruises. Bruises appear in patients who have congenital or acquired weakness of the smallest blood vessels of the capillaries located in the surface layer of the epithelium. As a result of mechanical damage to the skin, profuse hemorrhage occurs in the epidermal tissue, the presence of which does not threaten human life and only brings psychological discomfort. After 1-2 weeks, the bruises go away on their own and do not require special therapy.
  2. Swelling of soft tissues. Swelling of areas of the skin into which preparations containing hyaluronic acid were injected is a normal immune reaction of the body to mechanical damage to the integrity of the skin. Especially when large areas of facial skin were simultaneously subjected to a rejuvenation session. Swelling indicates the presence of minor inflammation.
  3. Uneven distribution of the drug. If the cosmetologist made a mistake in the technology of the biorevitalization procedure and introduced too much hyaluronic acid into a certain part of the face, then tubercles and other irregularities may appear in the epithelial layer. This defect cannot be eliminated on its own and it will not disappear naturally either. This is a serious side effect, the removal of which is only possible by removing the cosmetic product from the subcutaneous layer of the face.
  4. Development of unusual sensations. Severe pain, itching, dryness and flaking of the skin of the face, the appearance of rashes are an abnormal reaction of the skin to a cosmetic product introduced into it that promotes rejuvenation. This side property also carries a significant risk to human health due to the fact that it may indicate the presence of an extensive allergic reaction that can spread to the mucous membranes of the larynx and respiratory system, and this already threatens suffocation.

These side effects can develop as a result of the individual characteristics of the patient’s body undergoing the facial skin biorevitalization procedure, or due to the fact that the cosmetologist made a mistake at a certain stage of the rejuvenation session. The presence of side effects is a serious reason to seek additional advice from a specialist who injected the filler into the subcutaneous layer of the face.

How does this differ from contouring and mesotherapy?

Unlike contouring, the drugs used for biorevitalization do not add volume.
In contouring, denser preparations are used, they are called fillers, to add volume, for example, Juvederm Voluma for the cheekbones. And mesotherapy drugs, although they are administered in the same way as biorevitalizants, have other indications for use. For example, DMAE, to improve the shape of the face, or vitamin C for whitening and stimulating cell function.

The successful activities of NPTsRIZ are confirmed by numerous company awards of various statuses (international and Russian). There are about forty of them (!). No other company that specializes in human health can boast such an extensive “collection” of awards in a short time.

How does the procedure work and what will I look like after it?

To reduce the pain from injections, we apply an anesthetic cream to the face for 20–30 minutes before the procedure.
Then the doctor opens a sterilely packaged syringe with the drug in front of you and injects it into the correction area. Sometimes the drug is administered papules, sometimes not, it depends both on the drug and on the problem being solved. The needle marks may be noticeable for a few days, but you can use makeup to make them invisible.

Advice from the general director of the clinic, Natalya Buzhinskaya:
“Be sure to check what is being administered to you, always and everywhere. This advice may seem strange, since you are on a page on our clinic’s website, and it may seem that I am calling for you to check the work of the doctors of our clinic. In fact, this is for your own peace of mind. When you know that you were injected not according to the doctor, but you see the drug itself, the documents for it, you worry less, even if the swelling suddenly lasts not a day, but two, and this positive attitude towards the result also matters.

In our clinic, the doctor is obliged to show you the packaging and give you a sticker with the series of the drug administered. We want you to be sure that you were given the original drug, and we provide you with all the documents for it. There is an iPAD in the lobby that has photos of all certificates and registration documents. You can ask the administrator to send you a photo of the document for the drug.

We are confident in the choice of drugs for work. We are confident in the competence of the doctor performing the procedure. And this, in general, is 99% of the success of the procedure. Why not 100%, you are probably wondering. Because there is also an individual reaction of the body to the administered drug, and although complications are extremely rare and temporary, they do occur. The swelling lasts for a long time, there may be an allergic reaction to the components of the drug, but the more carefully the doctor collects the medical history, the less likely there is to get these complications.”

Rules for skin care after the biorevitalization procedure
You can:

  • On the same day after the procedure, you can wash your face with water and a neutral cleanser, but try to touch your face less with your hands for 24 hours after the procedure. Remember that the skin’s protection is damaged by the needle; it takes a day for minor injuries to heal.
  • You can wear makeup, but show your doctor what you wear. If this is a make-up with a dispenser, then there should be no problems.
  • You can use your own moisturizer unless your doctor advises you to use another antiseptic. But exclude a new cream that you have never used for a week.
  • Among the products that can be used to reduce swelling and prevent infection, you can choose Hydra-Cool serum or Sheald protective balm from iS CLINICAL, pharmacy cream with arnica.

It is forbidden:

  • On the day of the procedure, go to the gym and sauna. The sauna should be avoided for 10–14 days.
  • Go to the solarium for 10–14 days.
  • Alcohol increases swelling, but does not affect the result, decide for yourself whether to drink or not)).

General negative consequences of biorevitalization

Among the negative consequences are those that occur almost immediately after the procedure. These include:

  • papules,
  • hematomas,
  • redness,
  • swelling.

Pappules

They arise as a result of the fact that the layer of skin into which the drug was injected tries to push out the composition, since the dense cover simply does not have the ability to accept additional volume without self-deformation. The compaction will persist until the hyaluronic acid included in the biorevitalizant is absorbed.

On average, the bumps persist after the procedure for 3-7 days, but if they appear as a result of an allergic reaction, then in parallel with taking antihistamines you will have to seek medical help.

Hematomas

Hematomas, or, more correctly, ecchymoses, appear if during biorevitalization any vessel was affected during needle insertion. It is quite easy to help the dermis in resolving bruises: heparin ointment and other drugs that have a similar effect can quickly restore the beautiful appearance of the skin in just half a week.

Redness

Redness, like any other color changes in the treated area, may indicate both a normal response to microtrauma, such as punctures, and an allergy to the drug. If the tone returns to normal and evens out within 2-3 days, nothing serious has happened, but otherwise you should go to the hospital.

Swelling

Swelling of the skin can be caused by the natural process of tissue healing, during which the accumulation of fluid in the area of the injured area is normal, but swelling can also be a sign of an allergy.

Severe complications after biorevitalization

Much more complex consequences include the following:

  • necrosis due to blockage of the vessel by hyaluronic acid;
  • the appearance of keloid scars;
  • formation of granulomas;
  • compaction of areas;
  • skin sensitivity problems;
  • Tyndall effect.

The last option should be analyzed in more detail: the Tindai effect is the appearance of balls or stripes that shine through the cover in blue or pinkish hues. This phenomenon may occur if the drug is not administered deeply enough.

In general, the problem can be easily solved by introducing a digestive enzyme called hyaluronidase, but in this case the planned effect from biorevitalization should not be expected.

Procedures using the Jet Peel device (mechanical peeling, lymphatic drainage, treatment of inflammatory elements with Metrogil solution, manual extraction of comedones) - once every 2 weeks. Chemical peels (almond, salicylic) - once a week. Yellow peeling – once every 10 days. Biorevitalization IAL System - once every 2 weeks. Fraxel laser. Bioreparation Bio expander – 1 ml. Volumetric modeling of cheekbones. Professional and home care using iS CLINICAL products (Red capert care, Active Serum, Pro-heal Serum).

Rehabilitation period

What should not be done after biorevitalization? This question interests many women who have decided on the papular rejuvenation technique with hyaluronic acid. Negative consequences after biorevitalization can occur not only through the fault of the cosmetologist. Your incorrect actions during the rehabilitation period can cause significant damage to the skin.

Cosmetologists strongly recommend:

  • for the first two days after acupuncture, do not touch your face or even wash your face with water;
  • refuse to visit the sauna, bathhouse and solarium;
  • do not do facial massage, cleansing and other cosmetic procedures for at least two weeks;
  • do not use foundation or powder until the injection wounds heal;
  • Do not remove crusts at injection sites under any circumstances;
  • You can’t play sports for two weeks;
  • avoid prolonged sun exposure in the first week after acupuncture.

In some cases, a cosmetologist may recommend a special massage to promote proper distribution of the drug under the skin. It is possible to carry out microcurrent effects or use special masks and ointments with a calming effect (only as prescribed by a specialist).

Papules inevitably form at the injection sites, and swelling appears over the entire area of the treated area. How quickly will they disappear? After a few days, under normal circumstances, the swelling goes away. How long do papules last after biorevitalization? They go away differently for each person - within 2-7 days. This process depends on the concentration of injected collagen and the individual characteristics of the body.

The following photo shows what papules look like.

Given the possible side effects and the healing time of papules, we recommend that you take a vacation or time off. After the wounds disappear, you will immediately notice an improvement in the condition of the skin. The course of biorevitalization consists of 3–4 procedures with an interval of 2 weeks.

Some cosmetics for washing, in particular alcohol-based soaps and lotions, can injure skin damaged during biorevitalization. Review your diet towards low-calorie foods, which the body will not need to spend too much energy to process. Try to add as little salt to your food as possible. This simple technique will help avoid severe swelling.

Some patients ask whether they can drink alcohol. Cosmetologists strongly recommend that you stop drinking alcoholic beverages in the first 3 days.

Patient comment

The face has become completely different!
Inflammations are rare, associated with the cycle and to a lesser extent. The skin has become smoother and tighter and less shiny. This season I plan to repeat Fraxel. And in general, I have become more attentive to myself, to my diet, and I hope to quit smoking. Show all reviews (3)
