Forever Young BBL Research
Forever Young BBL treatments rejuvenate the skin at the genetic level, making skin cells functionally similar to young cells, according to research by scientists at Stanford University.
Scientists at Stanford University conducted clinical studies studying the genome of aging skin cells. The study results showed that BBL can rejuvenate aging cells, making them functionally similar to young skin cells, due to the ability to change the expression of genes associated with aging, longevity and increased lifespan. Data from a double-blind, randomized study showed that patients looked 9 years younger than their age! The study involved 490 experts from various specialties, including 51 dermatologists. Authors: Patrick J. Bitter, Jr., MD, Jason Pozner, MD
Study design
Eleven women underwent photorejuvenation of the entire face with the Sciton BBL system at least once a year for 8 years. A total of 490 experts, including 51 dermatologists, participated in the double-blind, randomized study. Experts concluded that the women aged only 6 months, while 8 years had passed between the first and last procedures.
Evaluation of the results of a study on the effectiveness of skin photorejuvenation
The average age of women at the start of BBL photorejuvenation procedures was 45 years, and the dermatologists who participated in the evaluation of the before and after photographs estimated the age of the patients in the before photos to be an average of 45 years. After 8 years of observation (photo “after”), experts gave an average age estimate of 45.5 years, which turned out to be 9 years younger than the actual age of the study participants. The study involved clinic patients who underwent at least one course of FOREVER YOUNG BBL photorejuvenation per year and did not undergo laser procedures or use the services of plastic surgeons. Women used skin care creams. Only assessment data from expert dermatologists were included in the study. Moreover, the experts did not know about the procedures and treatment methods that the subjects underwent. The photographs were taken in such a way that the experts assessed only the condition of the skin, and not other signs of skin aging, such as gray hair, etc.
Results of the skin photorejuvenation study
Clinical effectiveness of rejuvenation with broadband pulsed light Sciton BBL is effectively used to treat signs of aging of the skin of the face and body, such as wrinkles, dilated blood vessels on the face, age spots. Research shows that FOREVER YOUNG BBL photorejuvenation can improve the condition of the skin, both externally and at the histological (tissue) level, and that long-term use of procedures slows down the aging process of the skin.
Scientific research proves that regular Forever Young BBL treatments functionally rejuvenate the skin and slow down skin aging.
It’s no wonder that the FOREVER YOUNG BBL photorejuvenation procedure is one of the most sought-after cosmetic procedures in Hollywood.
BBL Forever Young rejuvenation procedure
Forever Young BBL™ a revolutionary genetic rejuvenation treatment that delivers light energy deep into the skin to stimulate natural anti-aging capabilities. Skin doesn't just look younger - it's genetically programmed to look younger!
Forever Young BBL photorejuvenation has virtually no contraindications. The procedure is suitable for people of all ages and all skin types. Photorejuvenation is used not only to treat pathologies, but also to stop skin aging. The effect of rejuvenation and anti-aging has been scientifically proven. During a ten-year clinical study, patients were regularly monitored and treated with BBL™. At the end of the study, the subjects' skin looked 11 years younger than their actual age. That is, if the patient began undergoing procedures at 40 years old, then at 50 years old he looked 39.
To stop or slow down skin aging, it is recommended to carry out 1 to 3 procedures per year.
How does Forever Young BBL photorejuvenation work?
BBL™ flash lamps emit light energy that warms the deep layers of the skin. Under the influence of light, a controlled removal of damaged cells occurs and certain genes responsible for youth are activated. At the same time, healthy cells begin to regenerate and produce collagen, a connective tissue protein. It heals the skin, makes it stronger and more elastic. The procedure can be performed on any area of the body. The most popular areas are the face, neck, back of the hand, décolleté and shoulder areas.
How does the Forever Young BBL photorejuvenation procedure work?
During the session, the patient wears safety glasses. The doctor applies a cooling gel to the treated skin surface, then conducts light therapy through the cooled nozzle. The duration of the procedure is up to 30 minutes, on average 7-9 minutes (depending on the type and size of the pathology).
What to expect after the procedure?
Redness of the treated skin may occur for several hours.
How long does the rehabilitation period last?
This is a non-invasive and non-invasive procedure with virtually no recovery period. In most cases, you can return to work, wear makeup, and resume your normal lifestyle immediately after the procedure. It is advisable to use sunscreen during the first few days. After the procedure, the skin becomes more sensitive and sunlight may cause redness and swelling. With hyperpigmentation, the effect of photorejuvenation does not occur immediately. For some time, the pigment may appear stronger than before the procedure, but within 10-14 days it will lose saturation and disappear completely.
Research from Stanford University* has proven that after Forever Young BBL™ procedures, more than 1,000 RNAs of aging skin are “rejuvenated”, cell gene expression becomes similar to young cells. Rejuvenated genes are involved in the regulation of cell functions such as longevity, cell lifespan and suppression of tumor processes.
This is clinically manifested in:
- increasing elasticity;
- more uniform and orderly distribution of collagen;
- correction of fine wrinkles, age spots and vascular formations.

BBL photorejuvenation: how does it work?
BBL photorejuvenation is an innovative technology that allows you to perfectly tailor treatment and care in accordance with the individual characteristics and condition of the client’s skin, as well as the desired results. The abbreviation BBL stands for broad band line. This technique uses the power of pulsed light to deliver energy to specific areas of the skin at a given depth, resulting in excellent results in the treatment of dermatological pathologies and skin rejuvenation.
The BBL device emits pulses of light energy that gently heat the upper layers of the skin. The principle of operation of the method is that light of different wavelengths is absorbed in the skin either by melanin pigment, or by blood pigment in blood vessels, as well as by water. The pigment or dilated vessel is destroyed, and by heating the water in the dermis, the synthesis of new collagen is started. As a result, effects such as thickening of the epidermis, reducing signs of elastosis (photoaging), smoothing skin texture, and narrowing pores can be noted. In this case, the restructuring process occurs inside the skin without damaging its surface. The BBL is essentially a more modern, updated version of the IPL. Compared to IPL photorejuvenation, narrower filters are used here to fine-tune the effects of the procedure, which can be aimed at eliminating such various defects as uneven skin color, hyperpigmentation, damaged capillaries, etc.
Operating principle of BBL 24536
By choosing the appropriate wavelength or filter, the cosmetologist has the opportunity to treat a wide range of skin diseases, as well as defects associated with skin aging and photodamage. The result is smoother, brighter and more youthful looking skin.
The beam of light energy supplied by the BBL device gently transmits heat into the upper layers of the skin - it is absorbed in targeted (specifically specified) regions in order to stimulate fibroblasts in them to actively synthesize new collagen. This will help restore the skin naturally, giving it firmness, radiance and an even, healthy tone. In addition, photothermal energy helps eliminate many of the small vessels that cause redness and unwanted melanin deposits - the cause of age spots.
BBL photorejuvenation procedure
The BBL photorejuvenation procedure is non-invasive and safe: usually no or minimal discomfort is felt, depending on the sensitivity of the patient. There is no need for local anesthesia for BBL photorejuvenation, although the esthetician may use an anesthetic on more sensitive areas.
Photorejuvenation procedure 24077
Any area on the body (except mucous membranes) can be treated in this way. The most common are those that are susceptible to the damaging effects of ultraviolet radiation: face, neck, décolleté. Also popular are BBL photorejuvenation procedures for the back, arms, chest and shoulders.
As for safety, the strength of the impulse is controlled by reliable electronics. The eyes are protected with glasses during the session. During the treatment, a short-term heat may be felt as light is absorbed in the treatment areas.
BBL photorejuvenation is a completely self-sufficient procedure, often the result is visible after the first session. However, sometimes it may be necessary (depending on the task and desired results) a course consisting of 2 - 5 procedures, which are carried out over a period of 4-8 weeks at regular intervals. A single procedure can take anywhere from a few minutes to half an hour depending on the size of the area to be treated and the type of procedure being performed.
BBL photorejuvenation procedure: indications
The BBL photorejuvenation procedure is well tolerated by most patients, and is generally considered an ideal first step when starting to prevent aging, since it does not require the use of more powerful lasers, which are inconvenient because they take a lot of time and effort for rehabilitation.
The range of clinical applications - indications for the use of BBL ™ photorejuvenation technology - is impressively wide: the technique allows you to treat several diseases or skin defects at once, changing the wavelength during one procedure. So, what can BBL do depending on the wavelength? We measure it in nanometers:
- 420 – acne,
- 515 – age spots, such as freckles, age-related hyperpigmentation
- 560 – vascular lesions such as cherry blossom angiomas, telangiectasia, rosacea and rosacea;
- 590 - deep lesions, as well as treatment of languid skin phototypes
- 590, 640 and 695 – removal of unwanted hair
As you can see, a single device can cope with a variety of problems. You can switch modes literally on the fly using the built-in smart filter system. An optional SkinTyte™ module is also available, using infrared light energy to stimulate collagen synthesis in the skin through deep heating to improve skin turgor.
For this procedure, age does not matter, there are only clinical indications - unwanted skin changes. Therefore, to the question of at what age should photorejuvenation be done, the answer can be given to anyone: light does not deplete the skin’s reserves in any way, it only eliminates its imperfections and prevents their appearance in the future.
What to expect from BBL photorejuvenation
After the first session, a feeling of smoother, more even skin appears, fine wrinkles and spots, uneven skin tone and pigmentation disappear. The pores on the skin will become smaller and the tiny blood vessels that cause redness in the skin will also be less noticeable. And increasing collagen production will improve its tone, and the effect will last for a long time. However, the results depend on the individual skin condition, the number and protocol of procedures, as well as the characteristics of the treated area.
Benefits of BBL photorejuvenation
The innovative BBL model (manufactured by Sciton) expands the already quite impressive range of laser capabilities used in cosmetology. In addition, the devices that are used for BBL photorejuvenation are equipped with various modules - flash lamps, replaceable smart filters (Smart Filters), adapters, thermoelectric cooling sensors: these high-tech additions allow you to optimize the work of the cosmetologist, making it both the most effective and the most safe. For example, BBL devices use advanced dual lamp technology: each provides half the energy required for a session - this makes the procedure safer and extends the life of the lamps. Various adapters allow treatment in hard-to-reach areas while ensuring uniform treatment of the skin.
Benefits of ВВL 30816
The BBL photorejuvenation procedure allows not only to eliminate visible signs of aging - wrinkles, pigment and vascular disorders, lost skin tone, but also to delay their appearance in the future. (That is why this method of photorejuvenation is also called ForeverYoung BBL.) It is important that the protocol of the BBL photorejuvenation procedure provides for the ability to carry it out on almost any skin phototype (IV) and on any part of the body. The BBL photorejuvenation procedure can be carried out in parallel with other laser procedures, for example, in a comprehensive program for removing deep wrinkles or radically improving skin tone.
Contraindications for photorejuvenation
Despite the high safety profile of the procedure, there are still contraindications to it:
- severe chronic, hematological, oncological and autoimmune diseases;
- taking photosensitizing drugs (including St. John's wort);
- photodermatoses (poikiloderma, actinic keratosis, lentigo) and other skin diseases at the acute stage;
- a number of phototoxic allergic reactions to ultraviolet radiation;
- pregnancy.
Rehabilitation: what to do after BBL photorejuvenation?
Recovery after BBL photorejuvenation will not take much time: it is a non-invasive and delicate procedure that takes place with virtually no consequences. In most cases, after BBL photorejuvenation, you can immediately apply makeup and return to work or normal daily activities. After the procedure, you will be sensitive to ultraviolet light for some time, so you should avoid direct sunlight until complete recovery. It is important to use a good sunscreen every time you are outdoors.
As for home care, it remains the same. Just avoid aggressive cleansers, chemical and mechanical - do not use scrubs, brushes, or loofah sponges until the skin in the treatment area returns to its original state. Sometimes the following side effects are observed - you can eliminate them yourself.
- Immediately after the procedure, the skin in the treated area may turn slightly red. Erythema may last for 3-5 days: this is considered to be a normal reaction to the procedure. To hide redness, it is allowed to use decorative cosmetics.
- Also, during the first 24-48 hours after treatment, a slight burning sensation may occur on the treated area (like after sunbathing). To relieve this sensation, cold compresses can be applied approximately once an hour. Moisturizing products containing licorice root, chamomile, allantoin and other components that have a calming effect will also help reduce discomfort.
- Darkening of pigment spots is another normal reaction: pigment spots may continue to gradually darken over the next 24-48 hours. The darkened lesions may progress to scabs or crusts that begin to peel off after 2-3 days. The lesions usually resolve within 7-10 days and will disappear over the next 2-4 weeks. Do not pick, scratch, or manually remove scabs or crusts.
All about the BBL photorejuvenation procedure 24193
It is best not to use antibiotic ointment if you experience complications such as blisters, persistent inflammation or abscesses - in such cases you should consult a doctor. It is always important to follow your doctor's instructions; your doctor may provide individual skin care products and instructions on how to use them. This will help minimize the risk of inflammation or redness and ensure rapid healing after BBL photorejuvenation.
