Hello, dear readers! My name is Tatyana, I am 27 years old. From my own experience, I will say that acne is a very big problem that can be encountered at any age.
Yesterday I went to bed, and in the morning, looking in the mirror, I was stunned - my face was covered in acne, the reasons for which were completely incomprehensible to me. I didn't know what to do as my wedding anniversary was approaching.
Since the problem suddenly appeared out of the blue and could not go away on its own, a natural question arose: what to do and how to get rid of it as quickly as possible?
After thinking about it, I decided not to use the old “grandfather’s” methods from ten years ago, when, while still a student, I struggled with these terrible pimples. With a strong desire to get rid of acne, I turned to my friends for help and, like a modern girl, to the Internet, from where I learned a lot of very important information.
Causes of acne
If you don't know the ford, don't get into the water! It is not for nothing that this proverb has taken root and has been passed on from mouth to mouth for centuries. After all, if you don’t know the reason why you have red dots all over your face, you won’t be able to effectively fight them!
It turns out that sebaceous glands are located throughout the skin, which regularly secrete subcutaneous fat to moisturize and protect the skin from external irritants.
Personally, among the many reasons, I have identified the following:
- seasonality and climatic features;
- diseases of the gastrointestinal tract;
- stress;
- skin features;
- insufficient, or vice versa, excessive skin care.
I think it has happened to everyone that after planning a day full of entertainment, you and your boyfriend or girlfriend went to the cinema. And, of course, you can’t do without visiting a cafe. And there, as luck would have it, you will definitely meet those whom you do not really like and would like to see.
Therefore, imagine a situation where you have not one or two pimples on your face that can simply be disguised with foundation or powder, but a whole scattering! Unpleasant? That's what I think! Therefore, it is very important during treatment not to deviate from the rules and carefully follow all instructions.
Causes and mechanisms
Any condition has its reasons. Acne occurs due to excessive sebum production, blockage of the ducts and the proliferation of propionobacteria in them. Various external and internal factors contribute to the development of comedones and inflammatory acne:
- Overdrying of the facial skin (insolation, wind, aggressive cleansers).
- Contamination with fuels, lubricants or other substances.
- Parasitic diseases (demodex).
- Hormonal changes in the body.
- Poor nutrition and vitamin deficiencies.
- Pathology of the gastrointestinal tract.
- Use of comedogenic cosmetics.
- Taking certain medications (corticosteroids, oral contraceptives).
There are several reasons why acne on the face does not go away. Firstly, this is due to the continued exposure of the skin to the pathogenic factor, i.e. it was not detected during diagnosis. Secondly, low effectiveness occurs due to inadequate therapy, self-medication or non-compliance with doctor’s recommendations. Thirdly, certain types of acne require longer treatment, for example, nodular or cystic forms, especially in severe cases and in advanced stages.
If acne does not go away for a long time, you need to look for the cause of what is happening. This situation usually arises due to defects in the diagnosis and treatment of acne.
Control methods at home
After wandering through various forums, I came across several interesting recipes, but I was interested in urgent deliverance. I managed to unearth a sequence of actions to get rid of acne in 1 day:
- You can only squeeze out a ripe pimple. Take a cotton swab, a disinfectant solution, and turn on the lamp.
- Disinfect your hands and the inflamed area of skin, then gently press on the middle of the pimple.
- Make sure that the pus is completely drained and treat the wound with an alcohol solution from the pharmacy.
- After about an hour, apply Levomekol ointment to the affected area. If you don’t have it on hand, you can also use salicylic alcohol, mint toothpaste or viburnum juice.
- To relieve redness, apply a mask to your face, the recipe for which is quite simple but effective: place celandine and chamomile herbs in equal proportions in a small container, fill them with water and brew; After the water with herbs boils, remove the container from the stove and leave the broth to steep until it cools completely. Apply a soft cotton cloth moistened with herbal infusion to the inflamed skin and hold for 10 minutes.
- Later, you can re-treat the redness with Levomekol.
- After the procedure, it is strictly forbidden to consume foods that are irritating from the point of view of inflammation. These include sausages, sweets, smoked products, alcohol, etc.
Acne on the body in adult men and women: causes
With the skin of the whole body everything is much simpler. As a rule, the appearance of acne is caused either by internal reasons (of which, in this case, there are not many) or by negative external influences. Acne in adulthood in men may appear due to illness. For example, dysbiosis that occurs due to gastritis or ulcers, which leads to blockage of pores and the appearance of subcutaneous pimples if they are closed, and regular acne if the pores are open. But women have a different problem - as a rule, acne in adulthood can appear due to metabolic disorders.
As for external reasons, as a rule, it has to do with clothing. For example, many people notice the appearance of acne on the body in winter, and in our article about this we explained this phenomenon by the fact that in the cold season we wear more layers of fabric, which is often synthetic. This prevents the skin from breathing and provokes increased sweating, which, together, clogs pores and causes acne on the body in adults. And this situation can arise not only in winter. Therefore, we recommend wearing light clothing made from natural fabrics that will have minimal impact on the epidermis.
If you notice a sudden appearance of a rash on a specific part of the body, then the reason may be different. In this case, we recommend that you read our articles about why acne appears on the arms , legs , back and chest . They describe in more detail all possible reasons.
Additional masks and tinctures against acne
If you have no planned events, and a romantic meeting can be postponed to a more successful day, then these wonderful traditional medicine recipes will obviously come in handy:
- Masks:
- On kefir. Mix 1 tbsp. kefir with 1 tbsp. crushed oatmeal, add a little fresh lemon and apply to face for 20 minutes. Repeat the procedure every day for two weeks.
- On honey. Mix 2 tsp. honey with egg yolk, add a few drops of fresh lemon. Three procedures are enough for a noticeable effect.
- Tinctures:
- The most effective decoction today is chamomile infusion. To prepare, stir 1 tsp. dried chamomile flowers in boiling water, leave for 30 minutes, strain and take half a glass orally in the morning and evening for one week.
- Aloe juice. To make the lotion, you will need fresh aloe juice, diluted with water 2 to 1. Apply to problem areas of the skin 3 times a day for 5 days.
But don’t flatter yourself in advance. It turns out that the complete destruction of acne is quite a complex and time-consuming process!
Why do persistent symptoms occur?
Non-healing purulent acne on the face appears for various reasons. These may be age-related and hormonal changes occurring in the body.
Acne, which has been a problem for many years, appears due to poor diet, dysfunction of the sebaceous glands, stress or diseases of the internal organs.
Acne can be a problem for many years due to smoking or drinking alcohol.
The cause of their rash may be poor ecology or poor drinking habits.
The most common cause of a pustular rash is failure to comply with personal hygiene rules.
Demodectic mange can cause a rash on the face
All problems begin in adolescence, when the sebaceous glands begin to actively produce secretions and the skin becomes oily.
Excess fat allows opportunistic microflora, which is constantly located on the surface of the body, to actively multiply.
Once in the sebaceous ducts, pyogenic bacteria cause an inflammatory process that can expand and affect nearby areas.
Infected areas with insufficient care form chronic inflammations.
If the pimple does not go away for a long time, you need to use antiseptics that suppress the growth of microflora on the face, and zinc ointment, which improves the healing process.
Demodectic mange can cause a rash on the face. This is not one pimple, but a whole scattering of inflamed spots that cause itching sensations. Since this subcutaneous mite causes skin irritation, pyogenic microbes get into microcracks, and the face becomes covered with pustules.
If the underlying cause is not treated, the inflamed skin may remain on the face for a year or more.
Excess testosterone is a common cause of acne that does not go away for a long time.
Cosmetics clog pores and stimulate the onset of inflammation
Hormonal imbalances in women are treated with special drugs that stimulate the production of female hormones, which suppress the production of androgen.
The face of women suffering from such problems clears up on its own with the first pregnancy.
Failures in the functioning of the internal secretion organs cause inflamed acne on the upper lip, in the ears and on the back.
This pathology is often observed in young men. These pimples do not go away until the condition of the affected organs improves.
Recovery can occur after proper treatment under medical supervision. Spontaneous healing is observed after the start of regular sexual relations, which often happens in complex cases.
Pharmacy medicines
If you don’t have enough time to prepare homemade masks and infusions, I recommend turning to pharmaceutical products that are no less effective at getting rid of acne. They are simply more financially expensive and most of them have a number of contraindications.
It is better to use ointments and gels that are aimed not only at fighting acne and cleansing the skin, but also at moisturizing it and giving it freshness. These can be such well-known ointments and lotions as Zinerit, Klenzit, heparin and echthiol ointments, Metrogyl and many others. Be sure to consult your doctor before use.
If you have an oily skin type, dermatologists advise, along with drug treatment, to use manual and cosmetic pore cleansing, as well as cryomassage.
The simplest talkers for acne
A visit to the doctor usually ends with the patient being prescribed a bunch of ready-made pharmaceutical drugs, half of which may not be purchased. The main reason why people strive to get an appointment is the prescription of a special miracle drug, or talker.
Meanwhile, it will not be difficult to prepare it at home. For this you will need:
- 50 ml of pure medical alcohol;
- 5 mg chloramphenicol (crushed tablets);
- 50 ml boric acid;
- 5 ml of 2% salicylic acid solution.
All ingredients are combined and the prepared mixture is rubbed onto the affected areas of the skin once a day, preferably in the evening, shortly before bedtime. When the skin dries, you can lubricate it with any non-greasy cream to prevent overdrying.
The second recipe for mash is just as simple; it requires:
- 80 ml camphor alcohol;
- 10 tablets of streptocide;
- 30 ml of 2% salicylic acid solution;
- 4 tablets of chloramphenicol.
The tablets are ground into powder with a pestle, then both types of liquids are added to them and mixed well until completely dissolved. Apply to inflamed skin, as well as spot on large pimples, 1 time at the end of the day.
