Breast lipofilling is a plastic surgery, the essence of which is to transplant the patient’s own fat tissue into the breast area in order to fill the missing volume and correct the shape of the mammary gland. Fat is collected for further transplantation by liposuction of problem areas - the abdomen, flanks (sides), back, hips and knees. Lipofilling is indicated for patients who do not want to enlarge their breasts with silicone implants, and also plan to get a natural and natural result after surgery. In some cases, with a special breast structure (tubular breast), plastic surgeons use this technique to correct the shape of the gland. Breast lipofilling surgery allows women to achieve ideal shapes in the décolleté area and gain new body contours by correcting problem areas using the liposuction procedure - the first stage of the operation.

Recommendations for breast lipofilling
- The patient’s inability or unwillingness to install breast implants in order to change the shape and volume of the mammary glands.
- The need for additional correction after breast replacement in thin women to prevent displacement of the implants and build-up of the subcutaneous fat layer above them (as a preventive measure for contouring).
- A slight change in volume with modeling the shape, oval, eliminating slight asymmetry of the mammary glands.
Breast lipofilling can also be performed in combination with liposuction to create more proportional, seductive body contours.

What is lipofilling and how does it differ from other breast augmentation surgeries?
Sometimes it’s enough just to use the right trainer and already +1.5 sizes. I recommend this one!
Lipofilling is a cosmetic operation aimed at correcting the contours and relief of a woman’s face and body.
Today, with the help of this procedure, nasolabial folds are smoothed, the hands are rejuvenated, the contour of sunken cheeks is outlined, volume is returned to the mammary glands, and even the shape of the legs is corrected. Not so long ago, with the help of lipofilling, cosmetologists learned how to effectively hide scars and stretch marks on the body.
The main difference between breast augmentation through lipofilling from plastic surgery and other techniques is that the operation is safe and does not entail serious consequences, since the patient is injected with his own fat tissue.
After installing implants through plastic surgery, situations often occur when a woman’s body rejects a foreign body. In addition, lipofilling performs two important functions for any woman:
- fills imperfect parts of the body with volume;
- removes excess fat from problem areas.
Therefore, people also call lipofilling liposuction, an operation to reduce body volume in places where a lot of excess weight has accumulated. Due to this, the number of people wishing to resort to such quick and universal correction of body parts is growing daily.
A friend recommended this cool chest exerciser to me. +1.5 to size and no problems! Girls - this is WOW!
Benefits of Breast Augmentation with Fat
- There is no risk of rejection, since instead of artificial implants, the patient’s own tissues are introduced, which cannot be identified by the immune system as antigens.
- With lipofilling, patients receive not only beautiful breasts, but also correction of body contours in problem areas - the biomaterial is taken from the place of the greatest accumulation of fatty tissue.
- Subcutaneous injection of fat additionally provides intensive nutrition to tissues, stimulating their renewal.
- Our surgeons’ experience and proprietary innovative techniques allow us to enlarge the breasts by 1 size.
- A natural result is achieved thanks to the lipofilling technique and the absence of traces of surgical intervention - scars.
- The versatility of the procedure is due to its aesthetic effect - with the help of fat, not only breast augmentation is carried out, but also breast modeling, the upper edges of implants protruding under the skin are hidden when there is a lack of soft tissue.

Indications and contraindications for surgery
Lipofilling allows you to increase the volume of the bust by a maximum of 1-2 sizes, as well as correct the asymmetry of the mammary glands, change their shape, and disguise the boundaries of the implants.
Among the contraindications to breast augmentation with your own fat are:
- Pregnancy at any stage.
- Breastfeeding period.
- Diseases of the cardiovascular system.
- Acute infectious processes.
- Mental illnesses.
- Breast diseases.
- Benign and malignant tumors.
In order to identify contraindications to breast lipofilling and determine the patient’s overall health status, even before the operation you will need to undergo tests:
- General and biochemical blood test.
- ECG and fluorography.
- General urine analysis.
- Determination of blood clotting.
- Test for hepatitis, syphilis and HIV.
If necessary, the surgeon may prescribe an ultrasound of the mammary glands or other special examination, as well as consultations with specialized specialists.
Features of breast lipofilling
Lipomodeling can be either an independent operation or an integral component of plastic correction of the breast, face or other parts of the body.
Lipofilling is performed under local or general anesthesia. The choice of anesthetic drug depends on the severity of aesthetic breast defects and, accordingly, the chosen tactics of surgical correction. The duration of the operation varies from 30 to 60 minutes. The maximum period of inpatient treatment after breast augmentation with fat does not exceed 1 day.
The only limitation during the rehabilitation period, which lasts up to 3 weeks, is the exclusion of physical activity.
Stages of breast lipofilling
Conventionally, the intervention performed under general anesthesia can be divided into 3 main processes:
Taking the patient's fat tissue:
A special solution is injected through micro-incisions (length 2-5mm), and then using a cannula, fat cells are vacuum pumped out, which immediately fall into the intended reservoir. Since the cannula has a rounded end, nerves and blood vessels are not damaged during pumping.
Cleaning up seized material:
In a centrifuge, the removed cells are cleaned of impurities of destroyed cells, spilled fat, solution administered before the operation, and blood. The fat is then filtered. This stage is very important, since it is on the observance of all necessary measures during its implementation that will depend on whether the introduced cells will take root.
Injection of fat into the glands:
Punctures are made in the armpit area, between the areola and the nipple, and under the breast. A cannula with a rounded end is inserted into them, and fat cells are injected into the space between the muscles. The doctor makes injections in different planes so that the fat is distributed evenly and the breasts acquire the desired shape. After the injections are completed, a tape is placed on the patient's chest, which prevents the injected fat from moving to other areas. After 5-7 days the tape is removed.
On average, the intervention lasts from 1.5 to 4 hours. It is recommended to spend the first day after surgery in the hospital.
Breast lipofilling procedure
After a set of diagnostic measures, in the absence of contraindications, surgery is performed.
- At the first stage, donor fat tissue is collected using lipograft syringes (usually from the patient’s abdomen or thighs).
- Then the biomaterial is purified from foreign impurities under conditions of strict sterility. To speed up the process of fraction separation, laboratory centrifuges are used.
- Breast lipofilling is performed by injection. Fatty tissue is injected under the muscles (to prevent its migration) and a rigotomy is performed to ensure correct distribution of the graft.
Lipofilling technique
The operation “lipofilling” appeared in the mid-80s. One of the first surgeons to describe the technique of injecting a patient’s own fat into areas with missing volume was the Frenchman Pierre Fournier. Initially, the method was used to correct “blockages” after previously performed liposuction: semi-liquid fat was injected through cannulas and filled the voids left by aggressive fat harvesting. Next, surgeons improved the technique and began to inject autologous fat into the area of the face, chest and buttocks. Over the course of many years of work with fat, not only the approaches to the operation have changed and improved, but the process of fat collection itself has also changed.
More than 35 years have passed since our colleagues in the workshop began to use the patients’ own biocompatible material - subcutaneous fat, fat collected during liposuction. Today we work not with classical instruments (cannulas), but with an entire device created specifically for the needs of surgeons and patients - the BodyJet water-jet liposuction device. Working with this instrument made it possible to increase the percentage of fat retention: if previously, several months after the operation, about 30-50% took root, today with the BodyJet device we get better results - up to 70%.

comments on the lipofilling technique
Breast lipofilling surgery is performed in two stages:
- Removal of fat tissue The markings on the day of surgery indicate the areas of liposuction - areas for fat collection. Most often, excess subcutaneous fat is observed on the abdomen, sides, hips, knees and back. Using water-jet liposuction, the surgeon performs gentle tissue detachment, which ensures a more comfortable recovery for patients after surgery (compared to earlier fat harvesting methods). The collected fat remains in a special reservoir - a lipocollector for further transplantation into the area requiring correction.
- Injecting fat into the mammary gland area
In the second step, the surgeon begins to inject the collected fat into the mammary gland area. During the operation, hypercorrection of the breast is intentionally performed (a larger volume of fat is introduced), taking into account the lower survival rate of fatty material (about 50-70%).
Rehabilitation
Swelling and hematomas in the correction area disappear within a few days. Two weeks after breast lipofilling, it is necessary to minimize thermal, mechanical, and chemical effects on the mammary glands, and reduce physical activity. To enhance tissue healing, it is important to use external medications prescribed by your doctor.
The final result of aesthetic manipulation will appear six months after complete tissue regeneration.
Contraindications
- Chronic, inflammatory, infectious processes in the acute stage.
- Autoimmune pathologies.
- Diseases of the endocrine system.
- Disturbances of hemostasis and blood circulation.
- Oncopathology.
- Pregnancy, lactation.
Rehabilitation period
On the first day the patient is in the hospital. Bruises and swelling may appear in the areas of fat collection and injection. They go away in a few days. The maximum recovery period is 2 weeks. During this time, mechanical effects on the chest and active sports are excluded. After 3-6 months, the achieved result is assessed. During this time, the transplanted tissue engrafts.

Alternative methods of bust enlargement
There is only one alternative to breast lipofilling - mammoplasty with the installation of round or anatomical implants. During the operation, the surgeon inserts implants through an incision in the armpit, under the mammary gland, or in the area around the nipple. As a result, the breasts acquire the desired shape and volume, and subsequently do not sag due to age-related changes and sudden weight loss. The technique allows you to increase the bust by several sizes, eliminate pronounced asymmetry and restore the mammary gland after mastopexy.
The possibilities of breast lipofilling are much more modest. With this procedure, the bust becomes larger by a maximum of one and a half sizes, and to maintain the result, repeated manipulations will be required due to the natural breakdown of fatty tissue. However, breast augmentation with your own fat is much safer than full-scale surgery and implantation of a foreign body. After fat tissue transfer, the breasts look natural, and there are no scars left on the skin, which cannot be guaranteed when installing implants.
Disadvantages of breast fat grafting
The procedure is only suitable for women with excess fat on the abdomen, buttocks, thighs and other areas. Patients with a slender build will not be able to benefit from breast lipofilling. The method has contraindications for health reasons, although the list of restrictions is smaller than that of mammoplasty. The risk of negative consequences is minimal, but sometimes patients develop cysts and oleogranulomas.
