When can you peel after Botox?
From the above, we can conclude that Botox and peeling are two completely compatible procedures. One enhances the effect of the other, but only if the time interval between procedures is observed. Simultaneous use is strictly prohibited. The consequences will be:
- nerve palsy;
- violation of facial symmetry;
- lack of effect of both manipulations;
- migration of botulinum toxin;
- swelling on the face.
If you have done peeling, Botox can be performed no earlier than in a month. To exfoliate after beauty injections, you need to wait about two weeks. The decision about how many days later to schedule the next procedure should be made by a specialist. It depends on the individual characteristics of the patient’s skin and the type of planned exfoliation.
Chemical
Chemical peeling after Botox is not prescribed immediately. The length of the pause depends on how the botulinum toxin is fixed in the tissues. The minimum period in the best scenario is a week. It is advisable to wait at least 2 weeks. The type of exfoliation does not matter, whether it is yellow peeling or glycolic acid treatment, the rules remain the same.
The use of scrubs is also not allowed, since any massage of the dermis during the rehabilitation period is contraindicated.
Chemical peeling can be done only after rehabilitation is completed. The skin will be ready to accept enzymes and acids, which will enhance their effect.

Ultrasound cleaning
Unlike chemical exfoliation, ultrasonic cleaning is less traumatic and requires only 3-4 days for recovery. A sound wave can penetrate deep under the surface of the dermis and provoke a number of important rejuvenating processes:
- reduction and complete removal of swelling;
- regeneration;
- cellular renewal;
- stimulation of lymphatic drainage;
- positive effect on blood circulation.
If the manipulation went without complications, the specialist may prescribe Botox already on the 4th day after ultrasound peeling.
If you plan to do injections first, and only then ultrasound, then at least 2 weeks should pass after the injections. It is unacceptable to combine procedures at once.
This is interesting: analogues of the American drug Botox are the German Xeomin and the English Dysport. The rules for exfoliation after them are similar.
Laser cleaning
If you do not maintain the interval between Botox and laser exposure to the skin, Botox can migrate without producing any effect on the dermis. It is assumed that the reason for this is swelling and edema. In addition, failure to comply with the rule may cause:

- eyebrow ptosis;
- drooping eyelids;
- facial asymmetry.

Botox in the nose? .. What's the news?
Recently, a patient Natalya came to me for a consultation. She said that she moved from another city, that she regularly visited a cosmetologist in her city, and also said that she had started a course of peelings and would like to continue doing them in Moscow.
We found out that a month ago Natalya had Botox injections to smooth out wrinkles between the eyebrows and around the eyes. The injections were done efficiently, there were no wrinkles between the eyebrows or “crow’s feet”, but the wrinkles at the inner corner of the eye and on the back of the nose, which collected there during active facial expressions, were striking.
I asked Natalya if she had Botox injections in her nose area. She was very surprised and answered - of course not, I don’t have wrinkles there.
The thing is that in most cases they really are not there, but they can appear.

I'll tell you more. As a rule, when we are talking about the correction of facial wrinkles around the eyes using Botox injections, we mean wrinkles radiating from the outer corner of the eye, also called “crow’s feet”. (photo 1).
They are formed from frequent and active contraction of the orbicularis oculi muscle and lie perpendicular to the fibers of the muscle. I would like to draw your attention to the fact that the muscle is called circular for a reason; it has the shape of a ring (photo 2).

Botox injections are made into the lateral outer part of the muscle, as a result of which this particular area is immobilized, which prevents “crow’s feet” from gathering.
Due to the redistribution of the load on the muscle, the part that remains mobile will contract more intensely, collecting wrinkles at the inner corner of the eye and on the sides of the bridge of the nose. Such wrinkles are compensatory. If, however, Botox injections were also made in the area between the eyebrows, as in Natalya’s case, then the possibility of compensatory wrinkles appearing on the bridge of the nose only increases.

This happens because the orbicularis oculi muscle and the muscles between the eyebrows are closely adjacent in the area of the head and inner half of the eyebrow (photo 3) and part of the botulinum toxin injected into the muscles between the eyebrows diffuses into the orbicularis oculi muscle. So it turns out that on a beautiful, smooth face, with certain facial movements, unnatural wrinkles continually gather.

Patients themselves do not always notice them, since one look in the mirror is not enough for this. People around them notice them more often. After all, what attracts attention is not the smooth interbrow or the absence of wrinkles around the eyes, because with well-done injections everything has a very natural appearance, namely these compensatory “rabbit” wrinkles.
Therefore, when correcting wrinkles with Botox, I ask patients to also wrinkle their nose in order to identify the places that will take the “blow” after the injections (photo 4).
Injecting a small amount of botulinum toxin into these areas prevents the formation of “compensatory” wrinkles.

How can you correct the shape of your nose?
Attention to the ideal shape of the nose stimulates the creativity of not only doctors, but also manufacturers of cosmetic gadgets who offer to improve their face in a non-invasive way.
