Women always strive for ideal. They want to look great at any age, catch admiring glances, and hear compliments. Creams, cosmetics, shampoos, balms, cosmetic procedures... So many tricks to create a beautiful image or simply maintain natural beauty. I would like to focus your attention on one of the cosmetic procedures. This procedure is called darsonval and perhaps not everyone is familiar with it.
In 1891, the French physiologist d'Arsonval made an interesting observation: exposure to current of a certain frequency enhances the body's metabolic processes, which has a beneficial effect on the patient's condition. The procedure was recognized and has successfully proven itself in cosmetology and dermatology, in the treatment of various diseases of the peripheral and central nervous system and more.
How does darsonval work?
The device is a device consisting of a transformer, a generator and glass (vacuum) attachments. The shape of the electrodes is different, depending on the place of use and the desired result. Low power microcurrents pass through the electrodes and affect the human body. This stimulates metabolic processes, improves blood and lymph flow, and has a warming effect. Darsonval has a wide range of uses:
- osteochondrosis and radiculitis;
- insomnia;
- muscle pain;
- helps in the fight against eczema;
- in the treatment of neuralgia;
- in cosmetology;
- fights migraines;
- treatment of trophic ulcers;
- arthritis;
- tendon inflammation;
- sinusitis;
- allergic dermatitis and allergic rhinitis;
- cystitis, impotence, prostatitis;
- pulpitis, stomatitis.
And this is not the entire list! It is obvious that darsonval is quite a useful thing in medicine. Previously, such treatment was available only in specialized institutions (clinics, hospitals). And currently, most people can choose between a medical facility and using darsonval at home. Thus, finances will be saved and there will be more free time. And in general, it is more comfortable to carry out this procedure at home.
So, darsonval at home is an option for physiotherapy that has recently become popular. Before purchasing and using the device, be sure to consult your doctor. After all, there are a number of strict contraindications that you cannot understand without the help of a knowledgeable person. Please note: the device is not used as the only method of treatment, but as part of complex therapy or for preventive purposes.
We will look at the use of the device for cosmetic purposes and how to use Darsonval at home.
How does darsonval for the face work?
Darsonval is a small physiotherapeutic device consisting of a transformer, a generator and special attachments - electrodes. The latter can have different shapes: scalloped, mushroom-shaped, T-shaped or elongated. When using the device on the face, a mushroom-shaped attachment is usually used. The device always comes with detailed instructions, thanks to which it can be used safely at home.
The darsonvalization procedure was named after its founder, the French physiologist Darsonval, who proved the positive effect of alternating currents on the body.
The operation of the darsonval is based on an electric current with a frequency of about 100 kHz, which is produced by a pulse generator. The current is supplied through glass electrodes that are moved contact or non-contactly over the skin. As a result of darsonvalization, a high-voltage corona discharge, high-frequency current, weak ultraviolet radiation and heat generated by tissues during the procedures occur. During facial treatment with the device, ozone and nitrogen oxides are also released.
The facial darsalization procedure is useful in the following cases:
- decreased skin tone;
- the presence of pimples, acne, boils, acne and pustules;
- the appearance of facial and age wrinkles;
- the presence of scars and wounds after frostbite or burns;
- dry and chapped skin;
- skin diseases such as neurodermatitis, eczema or psoriasis.
As a result of the effect of the device, local blood circulation and tissue trophism are improved, the functions of the sebaceous and sweat glands are normalized, and biochemical metabolic reactions in the dermis and the tissues located under it are activated. In addition, darsonval saturates skin cells with oxygen and reduces pain when the epidermis is exposed to external irritants.
The electric charge of darsonval has a bactericidal effect.
It is important to note that the result of desonvalization is not immediately noticeable, so the procedure should be carried out in courses consisting of at least 10 procedures. Ideally, you need to undergo 15-20 sessions lasting about 15 minutes. Only after this will it be possible to notice a cosmetic effect - the skin will become more elastic, swelling and pain symptoms will disappear, inflammation will go away or inflammation on the face will noticeably decrease. Also, after the necessary course of desonvalization, muscle spasms will go away, and the immune system will become a little stronger, so the drug is good for health in general.
It is dangerous to use the drug every day - it is best to give the body a rest for a couple of days between procedures.
General rules and recommendations
- Wipe the electrode with a liquid containing alcohol. Dry and install. Only then can you turn on the device;
- the places where Darsonval is used must be not only dry, but also clean;
- To avoid burns, do not use cosmetics or alcohol-containing (acid-containing) substances before use;
- do not use liquids that are not compatible with ultraviolet radiation;
- do not wear metal jewelry; the location of the jewelry and the part of the body where darsonvalization is performed is not important;
- during the process of darsonvalization, do not approach or touch other people or animals, so as not to accidentally shock them;
- To protect yourself from electric shock, make sure that no moisture gets into the device.
Darsonval has 3 main modes. This is a silent discharge - when the nozzle of the device lightly touches the surface of the skin. If the electrode does not glide well, it is recommended to use a specialized powder or cream. But do not forget to pay attention to the composition, as it must be suitable for darsonval. There is a spark discharge. Its tension is noticeably stronger, so the nozzle should be kept 4 millimeters from the point of contact with the skin. To avoid damaging the skin, do not use Darsonval for more than 2 minutes. The last one is a point discharge. Its voltage is as powerful as that of a spark, but it is directed pointwise to a specific area. You can keep the device close, a few millimeters from the skin.
When the procedure is completed, do not forget to cleanse the skin of talc and apply a moisturizer. After darsonvalization, all useful nutrients are absorbed by the skin much better.
Contraindications for carrying out
Like any medical technique, this technique has its contraindications, which are undoubtedly very important to consider.
Before starting a procedural course to stabilize osteochondrosis of the collar region, it is necessary to exclude the presence of the following pathogenic manifestations in the patient:
- early diagnosis of cardiac arrhythmia
- thrombosis
- tuberculosis of any kind
- likelihood of epileptoid seizures
- oncology
- benign seals in the treated area
- bleeding disorders
- vitriol
- increase in body temperature
- diagnosis of infectious diseases
- presence of pacemakers
- pregnancy condition in women
Insufficient attention to warning points can not only reduce effectiveness, but also worsen the general condition of the patient. Before the course, it is recommended to consult your doctor for possible contraindications and, if necessary, determine alternative forms of therapy.
The Darsonval technique is an excellent addition to any treatment plan aimed at treating osteochondrosis. For it to give results, it should be carried out only in a specialized institution, under the strict supervision of the attending physician. Also, the stage of the disease matters. The sooner the physiotherapeutic course starts, the better the dynamics will be, and the treatment will take much less time.
Be healthy!
Darsonval for face
If all recommendations are followed, then you can proceed directly to darsonvalization. Darsonval will help you fight acne, postoperative swelling, sagging skin, swelling under the eyes, spider veins, skin porosity, pimples, wrinkles, stretch marks. Improves skin regeneration, helps shape the oval of the face and get rid of dryness or, conversely, oily skin.
There are separate recommendations for using Darsonval for the face at home:
- To treat the face, use a mushroom-shaped nozzle;
- Wash your face, dry your face, use a special powder (talc) or cream to improve the movement of the nozzle over the skin;
- set the minimum power;
- move the device from the side of the nose towards the ears. Do this gently, lightly and smoothly, in circular movements;
- then move towards the temples from the outer corners of the eyes;
- then move from the bridge of the nose to the hair and from the eyebrows to the hair, and from the hair towards the chin;
- gradually increase the current.
For the first session, Darsonval for the face at home should be used for no more than 5 minutes. Then you need to smoothly and gradually increase the time of each procedure and repeat it every other day. To begin with, 15-20 sessions are enough, and after that you need to take a break for several weeks and give yourself a rest. Thanks to this darsonvalization, the skin will stop shining and become more elastic. In the same way, you can achieve a lifting effect, but you must keep the electrode at a distance no closer than 4-5 millimeters from the skin. Be careful not to touch the skin of the eyelids and the area around the eyes!
Using darsonval for hair at home
It is also recommended to use the unit if you have problem hair. You can use darsonval for hair at home if you have severe hair loss, receding hairline, dandruff, dry or oily scalp, or brittle hair. This is a fairly safe and at the same time effective way to treat hair. In just one course you can achieve noticeable results. The device normalizes the functioning of the sebaceous glands, thereby combating oily hair. However, it does not dry out the hair. The current also expands the blood vessels, as a result the scalp receives nutrients. Recommendations for darsonvalization of hair are as follows:
- it is necessary that the hair is completely clean and dry, and there should be no elastic bands or hairpins on it;
- Comb your hair thoroughly before using the device;
- when treating hair, use a comb electrode attachment, which looks like a comb;
- Maintain minimum voltage first;
- slowly move from the forehead towards the back of the head, pressing the attachment tightly to the hair and combing it back;
- Do not forget that you need to increase the current strength, as well as the procedure time, slowly. The first session should last no more than 5 minutes, then the time increases, but it should not exceed half an hour;
- after the procedure, make a mask to restore the scalp;
- to achieve greater effect, complete a course of 20 sessions, without breaks, daily. Then take a break of 3 months. If necessary, then repeat the procedure.
Darsonval will improve the appearance of your hair, but remember that the reaction may vary, so discuss this with your doctor first. Note that the device has many contraindications: the presence of a pacemaker, a tendency to bleeding, epilepsy, arrhythmia, tuberculosis, cardiovascular failure, alcohol intoxication, intolerance to the effects of electric current.
Now you know how to use darsonval at home and what its benefits are, and every interested person will be able to carry out this procedure at home to improve their health and appearance. Do not forget that it is best to use it in conjunction with complex therapy to achieve maximum effect. Consult your doctor, use darsonval for prevention and stay great!
