Who is a surgeon?
No one wants to be on the operating table, and therefore everyone, young and old, is afraid of visiting a surgeon.
And, nevertheless, sometimes only an operation performed by the skillful hands of a person with a scalpel saves our life and health. So who is a surgeon? This is a doctor who diagnoses surgical pathology and treats it mainly surgically. Indications for this method of treatment are various acute and chronic diseases, which are the subject of study in such an area of medicine as surgery.
When to see a surgeon?
As a rule, a surgeon is consulted with injuries and tumors, inflammatory diseases of internal organs and malformations, tissue necrosis and in many other cases requiring surgical intervention. The symptoms of diseases for which people in Moscow rush to see such a specialized specialist are very diverse. Indications for a visit are usually not only injuries, but also complaints of:
- frequent abdominal pain or constipation,
- phlebeurysm,
- ingrown nails,
- swelling and redness of soft tissues,
- restriction of limb movement,
- the presence of pain in the spine, and many others.
How to become a surgeon?
Do you want to become a surgeon? Apply to “General Medicine”! Yes, this is the name of the specialty that should be found in the list offered to applicants by medical universities in Moscow. This could be the Russian National Research Medical University. N.I. Pirogov or the Faculty of Medicine of the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia.
After 3 years of studying general subjects, the student will finally be able to choose a narrower specialization that he has dreamed of. The study of specialized disciplines will be continued in residency (internship) in Moscow or any other Russian city where the graduate will be assigned. Further narrower specialization depends on the field in which the young specialist works. Therefore, to the name of the profession “surgeon”, a “prefix” is usually added through a hyphen: traumatologist, urologist, ophthalmologist, oncologist, etc.

I was periodically bothered by pain in my neck, in my right hand, and recently numbness in the fingers of my right hand. Sergei Konstantinovich carefully studied my MRI images, tested the condition of the cervical spine and right arm.
